NFL wants to have 16 international games, including in Asia

This is the reason the 17th game was introduced. Every team will play abroad every year. I believe they're looking at adding Dubai in 2026 and will likely add at least one more European location.

You guys have no idea what loyal UK fans go through to follow NFL!

I fully expect Cowboys to give up a home game in 2026 to play in Mexico.

It has become very easy to follow the NFL overseas in tbe past10-15 years. TV coverage is similar to the US.

But older NFL fans overseas are the most committed on the planet. In the 80s and 80s it was very easy for Americans to follow the NFL. Overseas fans had to spend money and go out of their way to get basic coverage - takes a lot more commitment.

Also, most of the real hard core fans outside the US are involved or have been involved in the sport at grassroots level in their country. Playing or volunteering with amateur clubs/leagues. Paying for everything, including equipment, training venues and transport to away games. Constantly fund raising for the basics. Something that is alien to.most Americans who've played the sport.

In the UK, they have not looked after the core fans who supported the international games. Ticket prices remain high and there is no loyalty scheme. I went to the Jags game at Wembley last year and I noticed that there were a lot of young couples attending on a day out. They all had a great time, But in the past the stadium would have been full of 100% NFL hardcore fans. Now there was an element of a 'day out'. Maybe the NFL wants that as the stadium was full.

That's a shame. Ive been to a few London games over the years and the best part is the festival atmosphere - meeting people from all over Uk and Europe who are involved at grassroots level. Always loved spotting people wearing their local club jerseys.

Yeah. Players flying charters are really gonna get beaten down.
Have you made the flight from Dallas to China? I have, 16 hours and it sucks unless you are in first class....business is slightly tolerable but coach blows.

Then with the jet lag it screws you up going there then coming back.

My point is if these guys are going to preach player safety then crap like this is completely counter to it.

They are running out of ridiculous money grabs.
Exactly. I don’t like it at all. Travel is hard on the players, if the players are tired there’s could be more injuries, more injuries damages the product on the field.

I think the NFL should keep the NFL teams in the states for all games and if they want to expand their global empire then create a farm league that is overseas. Take the UFL and put it overseas. I remember them trying it in the 90s and it failed but that was 30 years ago and maybe football would be accepted better now.

But I really dislike the idea of the NFL players playing overseas.
