Jones on Romo:
Deion: "Speaking of knocking on the door, Tony Romo is knocking on your door right now wanting a new contract. Do you think it's viable to wait; to roll the dice and see how he does, or reward him right now before the season starts."
Jones: "Well, that ththth sound you here behind that door, that furniture gettin' knocked over, that's me tryin' to get to the door you know that, uh, I, uh, uh, we we passed, uh, uh buh buh we passed on a real good young quarterback at Notre Dame, Quinn, uh, because, uh, that can say it better than anything we think Tony is the guy for us for the future at that position. Uh, and it's, uh, to reconcile it, uh, I know that he wants to be here for the long term, I know he wants to have that kind of success so the question is, uh, do we both make a decision that's more security for him and more risk for the Cowboys, uh, or do we wait, uh, get another 23 games in our case, by the way that means you played in the Superbowl if you get 23 games, and I'd love to have them; and his repertoire, I'd love to see 23 more games out of him, uh, before he have to make a big commitment. But we can do that if he can, uh, come together and get a little benefit of him not having totally proven out or us willing to, uh, step out there with him."
