I love Deion, he's so refreshing on TV compared to the usual talking heads. That said, last night's NFL Network broadcast was average at best. Not enough action for me.

When they covered the Senior Bowl they did a much better job. I was really hoping to see some of the pass rush drills up close.

Yeah, it went pretty much how I envisioned it.

Deion was unbearable.

There was an agonizing segment with Jerry, where Deion was unbearable.

There was a decent segment with TO in his G-Unit tank, (who doesn't move his lips much - they just kind of hang out there like a pair of tire tubes, he really resembles a horse when he talks) where Deion was unbearable - ending the segment with an uncomfortable bit where Deion did that thing parents do with their children. You know, when their child cannot speak, so they imagine words for them, and then vocalize it? Deion ended the segment doing that for TO, saying "TO says, 'I've matured.'"

It was awkward for everyone.

There were a few drills, and stuff with Wade mic'd up that was marginally interesting, but that was it.

All that said, I'm still glad they showed it.

Missed it. But from what everyone is saying it wasnt much. Evidenced by this thread which is only 1 page long, game threads are always at least thirty

I did record it, and could upload it tonight if anyone wants to see it that doesn't have NFLNetwork.

I would very much appreciate the effort.

I myself have been pretty skeptical about T.O.'s "cleaning up my act" lines, but I thought it was just rude how Deion scoffed to his face about "T.O. maturing" at the end of the interview.

I just saw a minute or 2 when they replayed it at 12 am but I am just amazed at the mass of TO and Newman who I saw. Newman is so thick and TO too. I don't know how Newman keeps up with the small quick guys with that much muscle mass.

Quite an amazing athlete!

For those somewhat disappointed, it closely followed the Inside Minicamp shows they had done earlier in the summer. I wasn't too surprised by what they showed. I think the difference is that they didn't have Mike Mayock, Solomon Wilcots, or even Sterling Sharpe breaking down things.

Deion, Jamie Dukes, and the other guy is really not a good mix.

I think Deion is terrible as a media personality period. He speaks with that (non-southern) draw and in a way that comes off like he is talking down to you.

I don't mind Deion as a media personality, I just prefer to balance out the brashness or whatever with a more serious football person.

Deion and Jamie Dukes have that same brash kind of personality. And the two of them together makes me cringe. I understand the Deion draw for the 'boys camp, but I really wish they would've paired him up with a Solomon Wilcots or a Sterling Sharpe...shoot, even Marshall Faulk.

I've never seen Jamie Dukes as a media guy. I'm one of those fans punished by not having NFLN. :cry2:

Deion is absolutely horrible. Unbearable, like SP said.

The shocker to me is that during our Atlanta game last year when he and Faulk came in at halftime after Vermeil lost his voice, I thought he did a good job. He does know the game, so I wonder if all the rest of it is just schtick.

Very bad schtick.

I honestly thought he was going to try to start making out with Jerry Jones, right there on TV.

I was horrified.

:lmao: :lmao2:

He could use less syrup in his interviews too.

I like Deion when he provides the "fresh" player perspective, but he's not a very good football analyst.

I thought the "Inside Training Camp" segment was average also. They showed a backup quarterback for the first part of the drills.

Who wants to see Matt Moore or whoever it was throwing/completing passes?

Let us see Romo. They got to showing him but not much.

I feel asleep on the rest but I Tivoed it so I'll watch the second half-hour segment.

I was hoping for an NFL training camp episode, but only with all the announcers and interviewers in a barbershop.

Maybe I'm getting carried away with media hatred (ESPN has provoked that within me for some time now), but I noticed that all of the "miked up" portions involving Phillips had him coming across like some overly laid-back older guy just having a jolly old time watching practice and cracking jokes with the assistants.

Something kept telling me there had to be more material of Wade engaged in more serious football talk during drills, etc. and they eschewed that during the post-production process in favor of only showing the moments where he came across as a "stark contrast" to Parcells, which is one of the national media's favorite current storylines regarding this team.

I kept getting ugly flashbacks of Switzer's sound bites in the mid-90s in terms of how NFLN featured Phillips in this segment.
