I think Chip is hedging his bet that one of them is going to get injured so might as well have two of them just in case.

It's an incredible duo, but since they can't play next to one another on the field, it's curious to invest SO much at the running back position. You pay $21 million guaranteed to Murray, but only intend on giving him the ball maybe 17 times? Hey, this thing could work out perfectly for them but it strikes me as odd on the surface.

They play up tempo so you could alternate series and not wear them down over the season as long as both can remain healthy

I wouldn't be that surprised if they just went too far with the oral commitment to Matthews to back out of it legally.

Their salary cap ceiling was higher, $159 million I think from credits from previous year(s)

I wouldn't have thought that Chip Kelly would have the best running back tandem in the league while we have Joseph Randle and Dunbar.

I thought the Eagles were a pass happy team. Kind of surprised.

From what I know, they actually want to run more than pass,,, and if they're gonna run plays rapidly they'll want at least two or three backs to run platoon style. It's all part of his subtle genius,,,

If most people were asked they would probably take Shady over Murray or Matthews, but not crazy Chip Kelly.

His actions since the Gore rejection is like when someone goes through a bad break up and sluts around for a few weeks. I love it.

Compared to Romo's 27m cap charge....

One was injured all last year and the year before and hasn't had any great seasons. The other was arguably the best QB in the league last year and has played great just about every season. Think the Cowboys are getting more for the money.

Trade winds blowing

The Rams were shopping QB Bradford for weeks. Doesn't sound like there was much interest. Although, Chip says one team offered him a first for Bradford. I think he is blowing smoke. I can't see RBs Matthews and Murray having any trade value at all at this point. Any team that wanted them could have just signed either to a contract yesterday. I don't see package deals in the NFL. Too many salary cap issues to prevent that type of multi-player deal.

I think Chip would like to make some trades but I think he will find that come draft day there won't be a willing trading partner.

Sproles is the 3rd down back. Or was. So Murray and Matthews will be splitting 1st and 2nd downs. RBs need to get into a rhythm and need carries to get it. Emmitt complained his rookie year that he can't have much of an impact if he only gets the ball 10 times a game.

We got Ryan Williams, who I really like, but was on the practice squad the entire season. We got the Underwear Bandit and Dunbar.

We got this.

Thank goodness Training Camp is this weekend so they can get it in gear with this OL...
Wait- this is still early March?

Well... Huh.
I guess I have nothing witty right now.
Just a little dumb-founded at you.

They can dump all their money into offense while ignoring their horrid secondary (and no, Maxwell doesn't change that).

Ya never got the maxwell is great. Thought the defense and secondary and d line made him look better then he is

Huh, that's odd! Maybe you should stop listening to all the morons who think they have a clue about what Kelly plans to do, huh? Like this ridiculous notion that he was planning on giving up all his draft choices to get Mariota. He came out yesterday and basically called out all the fools who suggested that. Kelly certainly never did. Just pure (and illogical) speculation that was taken as fact by equally stupid people.
