As far as Taco it should be a learning experience for him. Learn and improve.

This is pretty much the case. There has been some odd hype lately with DRoY predictions. But expecting a rookie end to come in and take over is asking for a lot.

That is who Willie McGinnist compared Collins too, was Williams. Says he has that nasty streak when playing that Erik had.
Willie is there and has been pretty supportive of everything he has seen from the entire team.

he even admitted he was wrong about Jaylon Smith.
The first 2 days, and up to the practice last night, he was saying he has reservations about Jaylon and playing in pads. Was optimistic overall for in the long run. Saying when the pads come on, they will keep him out, because it is much different. he expected sideline work in pads for some light hitting.

After practice he said he was impressed or what ever his words were. And that Jaylon looked really good.

People are down on Taco cause folks wanted Watt. Taco has won a few battles against Tyron so I'm not worried. He is a rookie and will need developing. Go watch other rookie pass rushers then remember Dallas has the best OL in the league

Nobody's "down on Taco". Everyone that wanted Watt - me included - hopes that Charlton becomes a beast. And I'm not "down on him" based off of his first padded practice against the best offensive line in football. I hope the guy becomes our JPP, with all of his fingers intact.

Taco can only go up from here. It is great Collins is settling in at RT. Taco will learn from it. You know Rod is pointing out things to Taco in the film room last night from the practice.
Can we see a few more weeks of his progression before people jump off the cliff....and for some of you, I will help push....

I get what you are saying but Pittsburgh will be using him in a 3-4 at OLB. Hard to compare unless Taco stands up or Watt puts his hand in the dirt

TJ Watt was the guy I wanted.

I'll be watching to see which guy has the better rookie year.

The problem is, you are comparing a 3-4 outside linebacker to a 4-3 defensive end on a completely different team, surrounded by different levels of talent. They really are not comparable. Furthermore, I suspect Watt might get more snaps if he finds a starting role considering Taco will very much be part of a rotation.

That said, based on what we saw in the limited action between Taco and Collins, I'd say he's going to need a year in strength and conditioning before he can make a significant splash in his role...and the same would have been true of Watt had he came here...perhaps even more true if he was going to play RE.

C'mon Stash. Everyone knows you will be following Watt and Taco very closely so that you can come back here and tell everyone you were right if Watt has the better career. It's okay...I certainly don't blame you....had the Cowboys not drafted Zeke last year and had taken Derek Henry instead, for instance, I would probably do the same thing if/when Zeke took the league over.

Exactly. We are Cowboys fans before anything. So I would take being wrong for Cowboys wins any day of the week.

That said, you and I both know if Taco sucks and Watt sets the world on fire, the zone will have an "I told you so" in some capacity coming from you at some point. You wouldn't be able to help yourself...and neither would I.

.........but a blogger on BTB had a diff. interpretation..he thought Taco held his own, if not won a few battles, so its all in how you look at things. If Taco can hold up on a run play his way so a LB can clean up, that is probablyl a "win", I'd hope those 2 are a wash ---that bodes good stuff for both of them, essentially 2 1st round picks neutralizing each other isnt all bad.
