Rick Smith at 9 the year after the Osweiler trade after coughing up a 2nd round pick to dump him is the one that gets me. Oh, and his starting QB is Tom Savage.

Yep add to that the fact he most likely could have negotiated Romo to a team friendly deal and coughed up a forth rounder for him. I know Romo decided to go into broadcasting but there was a month where he was making up his mind. Had Houston actually been aggressive instead of being vultures theyd be contenders now.

jerry jones is the number one reason the cowboys haven't won a divisional playoff game in over twenty years after Johnson and before parcells there was no chance during parcells time there was some chance now we are back to no chance

No chance? Thats a little dramatic. Lol

Bellichick is the best coach. He is not close to the best GM. So many failed draft picks.
Not close... lol.

While they haven't had amazing drafts lately, that's only one part of the off-season. They win almost every trade they make and kill it in free agency.

I don't know why people keep giving credit to Jerry for Dak, he didn't even want him. To Jerry, picking Dak was more of a consolation prize than a well thought out choice, he just happened to get lucky, thankfully. Regardless, he shouldn't get credit for being lucky especially when he even said he wanted Paxton Lynch over Dak.

If you take Dak out of the equation he did nothing other than use a 4th round draft pick for the best running back available behind the best offensive line in football. Yeah, genius, who would have ever thought? This is the same guy that wanted Johnny Football.

If anyone should get credit it should be Stephen for not letting him draft Manziel and for having a large say in improving the o line with 1st round picks which we all know Jerry would have never done on his own.

Jerry has had the sense to hire smarter people and listen to them. Dont hang him out to dry when things dont turn out and then refuse to give credit when they do.

Lol, ok. So I'll give him credit for the past 2-3 years for handing over the reigns but 20 years of mediocrity and being a horrible owner/gm vs 2-3 years of the opposite doesn't excuse him. Good try.

I guess the 3 Superbowls I celebrated didnt happen? Nobody said hes been great the entire time but its not nearly as oversimplified as some people try to make it. Hes improved and the last few years has been a good to great GM. No we havent been as successful as wed like but how many teams go into nearly every year with a legit chance? We are one of the few that has had a legit shot since the start of the Romo era and we are fortunate to be starting another promising era. In my opinion the team we have right now is something to be greatful for. I haven't been this excited about our future in a long time. For that I will give Jerry his due credit. In the end though its all a matter of perspective.

I'll give you that, I do think the future looks bright and he has done better by not micro managing every aspect of th team over the past few years. The one good thing he did to get those Super Bowls was hire Jimmy Johnson, the worst thing he did was fire Jimmy Johnson. I get it, he is partly responsible for those Super Bowls but he hasn't done a dang thing to help this team since other than sell the image which is what matters most to him. IMO, we would have had more opportunities to win more Super Bowls and compete if h had handled several things differently. Never has an owner done so little with so much. He has squandered opportunity after opportunity for the past twenty years until recently.

You're right though, all a matter of persepective. I respect your opinion even if I don't agree with every part of it.

Jerry has Stephen and Will to thank for his recent "upswing"........he gets the deceptive credit because he holds the title, anyone that believes that after 3 decades Jerry finally "gets it" is only fooling themselves.
Amen!! Post of the Week!!

"You have to convince Jerry to go against his instincts" Parcells said.

Jerry has more success building better teams when he's had greater influences in Jimmy, Bill and now Jason.
