Unbowed by going undrafted, Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich is maintaining a positive attitude.

...
"Thanking everyone for their support," Herzlich wrote on his Twitter account. "tough times call for perseverance and a tough mind. "I have been told that I can't play football before. We all know what happened with that. #neverquit.

"Great thing about a bad day is that you can thank God for the opportunity to wake up the next with a smile on your face Learned fun fact last night. 23 pro bowlers this year were undrafted."

I feel confident he will get a shot with some team.

I'm rooting for this kid we all are. Now i don't mean to sound insensitive but from a football POV I can't help but think this kid's presence will be a distraction for whatever team brings him in.

I don't know he has shown himself as a fighter missing all of 09 then coming back in 10 after what he went through and still posted 65 tackles and 4 ints frankly I would not mind having a kid like this on the team.

Don't you think he's just a shoo-in for the Patriots?

I love everything about this kid, as a football player and human being. That said, he is a perfect fit in Ryan's Cloud Defense. He can play ILB, OLB and DE. He can rush the passer, stop the run or drop into coverage.

He is a playmaker and a leader. And I have no doubt he will make every team that passed on him regret it. There are men and there are MEN.
