Do any of you guys watch hockey? You used to have a pretty quality Stars team in the area... I'm a big Devils fan, so Jason Arnott in 2000 was one of the best memories of my life.

Anyone?

I do. Montreal Canadiens are my all time fav team just ahead of the Cowboys.

I actually pay extra on my cable package to get RDS, a french sports network so I can see all 82 Canadiens' games.

I am a massive hockey nut myself. HUGE Devils fan here, and was born in Central NJ. On the other hand the Canadiens are actually B Squad team. Considering that my dad has loved them since the 70s. Two of the greatest goalies ever have come from the Habs and Devils.

Go Caps!

Been a hockey fan since about '96. I'm completely addicted to it now. I just moved away from the Phone Booth, and it's killing me.

It sure is. Luckily, one of my good friends has season tickets and is usually more than willing to share one with me If I buy him a beer. Can't wait to get back up into the DC area.

Yeah I get lucky whenever the Devils or Habs are in town. They usually sell tickets at the box office for a good price. Either way the Phone Booth is an excellent atmosphere to watch a great game.

Wow, people actually watch hockey. Granted, it took a while for me to find and dig this thread up, but yay you guys!

Interesting thing happened on friday at the prudential center (where the devils play).. I'm a STH so I was there, the devils were losing pretty soundly, 3-0 halfway through the second. With that, the lights go out. Kaput. 2 hours later they tell us they "re-scheduled" the rest of the game for today. So, I went up to newark today and watched the game, with the lighning STARTING the game with a 3-0 lead, 9:12 left in the 2nd period. felt odd.

Dallas Stars fan here. I started watching hockey in the mid 90's, and have been watching ever since. I have some friends that are season ticket holders, so I get invited to a lot of games. Stars aren't doing to well right now (currently, 2nd last in the Pacific), but it was nice to see them get the win against the Wild last night.

I'm really looking forward to the Olympics, mainly for the hockey.

I actually started playing I-league hockey 2 years ago, and even though I'm 42, playing with a bunch of 20 something year olds, it's awesome. It's a great workout, lot of fun, and really gives you an appreciation for the skill that the pros have.

CCF Jr started playing hockey this year for the New Westminster Royals Hockey 2 team. He played in goal last weekend and found it boring. I just found it massively nervewracking.

I like the Stars and the Blackhawks.

Used to live in Dallas when the Stars came to town, started following the Hawks after moving to Chicago.

Im super pumped for the olympic tournament.

It's actually a sport I'd like to get interested in watching. My dad took me to a few Dallas Stars games back when I was a little kid, but I don't know anything about the sport now. It seems like it'd be fun to start watching. But I don't know what the schedules are like, what team I'd want to cheer for, or the rules. It looks like I'm going to have to do some offseason research. (What's the season schedule like btw? I mean, when does the season start/finish? Isn't it like in the middle of the season currently? I think, but I honestly have no clue.)

The season starts early October, And ends Early to Mid April.

Its about 60% finished, Winter Olympics start in a couple weeks. So no All-star game this year.

re Olympics, Canada just has to win the Gold, we are at home, might be last time with NHL in the Olympics, a loss would be a major choke job

I know I might sound sacreligious on here. But the Canadian team looks really really sick, and I wouldnt mind if they won. They have alot of my favorite players on that team.

My plan this year is to get into watching it and see if I'll wind up liking it. I picked the Stars as my team to follow simply because...well I just did. :)
