Wrong. If he had 20 sacks it doesn't change anything. Bandwagon fans would just shift to a different 'Zone logical fallacy, most likely "we can just as easily miss the playoffs without his 20 sacks" or "he's not a leader/winner/gets garbage sacks", or really whatever they need to stick their hands in Ware's pockets to get the magical 7 million that will save our season. Which Jerry will no doubt flush down the can in the same manner he flushed twice that much on Austin, Ratliff and Spencer to do absolutely nothing last year.

Sorry, agree to disagree. Most fans love Ware. Yeah there is an element that thinks he disappears late in games but overall if the guy had 20 sacks, people would look at him as a guy we needed for the D to step up. Those who didn't would be a very tiny outlier. Again, sticking to the facts above though, the decision was smart. The problem is the decision had to be made because of past bad money decisions. But guys like this get cut yearly now...Richard Seymore a few years back to the group this year with Ware and Revis. Money.

you are amusing at times. Notice you completely ignore the roll of coaches in this sort of thing. But then not surprising coming from you
I guess you did not read my post thoroughly. I do understand the "role" coaches play in this...I pointed out that the inmates are running the assylum. And I pointed out that I hope Dallas has learned there lesson based on the results of this era of Cowboys football. Because the results from this era of Cowboys football speak for themselves. Bring in a coach...whom the players don't fear....and you get what we got today. Players with huge cap numbers...who have NEVER won anything...but refuse to take a paycut. Ratliff, Ware, Romo, Witten, Miles...these guys made a LOT of money...got a long run with this team...and came up empty. Forget the fact they did not win a Super Bowl...they did not even come close. Look at the top teams in the NFL...see how long they kept players. The top teams get rid of players that were actually INTEGRAL parts to winning Super Bowls...I have gone over the names too many times to do it again...but go look at New England, the Giants, Steelers, Ravens....teams that are always in the conference title games...and see how from year to year they move on from guys and still manage to be competetive. And yet there is all this back and forth on whether or not we should keep Demarcus Ware. But this is the culture that Jerry has created...a culture where WINNING is not the singular focus.....and it has made him a lot of money...so not sure it will ever change.

Football is the ultimate team sport...so there is plenty of blame to go around. We have been in 3 straight win and your are in games to end the season. In all of those season one more win would have made a difference. There are too many games to list....but in just this past year alone...when Detroit drives the lenght of the field in 1 minute....in the Green Bay game...where they score on like 5 straight possesions...converting 4th downs along the way...or the Denver game...when the defense took the field with the lead only to give it up....I do not have the game logs in front of me...but in any of those games...a sack, forced fumble, pass batted down....do any of that on 4th down and the game is over. Like I said...he made those kinds of plays a few years ago...but those are the kinds of plays he is SUPPOSED to make for what he is being paid. He simply did NOT do it enough. It's not personal...it;s fact. So what the coaches, players, front office have done is not good enough. Coaches have been fired...players have been cut...and if Garret does not win this year...he will be gone to...not personal..just business.

There's a difference between playing hurt, and playing injured. Players SHOULD NOT play injured. They will continue, however, to play hurt. Eatman can say what he wants, but the fact of the matter if that there is always a guy more than willing to take your spot if you decide to sit out and every now and then, that guy might give them team a reason to reconsider keeping you around.

Go check out his article on DC.com..................he thinks Ware was judged unfairly because he played hurt and that the team releasing him is going to send a message to all the players that they should not suit up if not 100%.

Do you guys buy this? Are players that maybe sucked it up and played with minor injuries in the past going to just say "F this, I am not playing if not 100%".

I find this argument hard to believe......................sounds like Nick is just pissed Ware got cut.

If you believe missing half of 012 and having surgeries on his elbow and shoulder would have made him have a good 013 then Nick is right but I doubt a few more months off in 012 would have made him a better player. We've already seen how that worked out for Austin and Ratliff. Nick is a Ware fan and hurt a little like all Ware fans sounds like.

Why is anybody reading Nick Eatman? #useless

Nick Eatman is a company man and the heir to Spagnola's throne. No doubt about it and it should be recognized.

At the same time he has some of the best insider access available. A couple of years ago he nailed the Smith, Carter, and Murray picks. If he says something factual then its very likely accurate.

30 million and 20 guaranteed says it worked out just fine for Ware and Eatman has no basis here.

If Ware elected not to play hurt he would probably have played in 2 games.
