Nick Folk (Get It Together)

You are correct. BUT, the one thing that Elam and Vanderjagt typically were was clutch. They missed their share of kicks like any other kicker. But, when their team REALLY needed it they came through more often than not. I don't have that kind of confidence in Folk right now. And quite frankly, neither does he. Over the past 3 games Folk accuracy is at 25%. That 75% is looking pretty damn good right now.

Has Folk missed any clutch kicks recently? I can't remember if he has or not.

Honestly, I think the one that he missed at Green Bay was clutch. That's just my opinion, though. With the decent offensive drive stalling, it was pretty important to get something on the board. To me that's kinda clutch. Now, fortunately we haven't been in a situation where we NEEDED Folk to make the kick or we lose, but right now, I have zero faith in him in such a situation.

Yeah, I was thinking about the GB kick, but decided it didn't count as clutch. It's hard for me to say that kick would have changed the outcome of the game. I guess you could make the argument that it was clutch, really it just comes down to opinion. While I don't have as much confidence in Folk as I used to, (how could you?) I'd still be comfortable trotting him out with the game on the line. He's still 6-7 this year when we're behind and 6-6 in the 4th quarter, when a true "clutch" kick would occur.

I'm pretty much convinced we've got a holder issue -- there were at least two that McBriar came out and took blame for -- on one you really could see the laces facing the wrong way. I recall that Tuna proclaimed McB would NEVER hold for him again -- that was after a bad play but it likely also reflected that he wasn't so good at it to start.

We seriously may have to go back to Romo here.

I agree with you about the holder as well. Brad Johnson was a great holder and McBriar has mucked up a couple holds. I don't think its all on Folk.
I'm not sure about using Romo though...he don't need that monkey back on his back.

I suspect the presence of Buehler is the reason for Folk's miscues. They are friends but Folk knows Buehler is on the roster because Folk couldn't do the job that was needed on kickoffs, and he may be nervous about the chance that Buehler will take his other job, too.

It's a matter of confidence. The ice water veins may be getting a little mushy.

What's up with Kitna? Can he not hold or something? Has he done it before?

i said it before and ill say it again, bring back Cortez, this fan base doesnt appreciate any player for to long.

Dude, Ware hasnt gotten a sack in two games, lets get someone else.

Then we need to get a new holder. I mean, how f'ing hard is it to spin the laces away from the kicker??? If McBriar still cant do it in week 11, then we need a new holder.

As for Romo, I am very uneasy about letting him hold again. I think Romo has enough to worry about without putting him in that position again. You know he would be thinking about the Seattle fiasco and not have his mind on the game.

What is wrong with Kitna??? He doesnt know how to hold after 15 yrs in the league???

I don't think it's so much as the holder. It's the kicker.

why not have crayton hold?

he has enough quicks, and some QB background if we decide to be tricky..
and pretty good hands, and a sense of the ball in the air..

If it comes down to a FG next week I'm gonna be a bit
. :nervous::puke:
