Nick Harris: FO considering LBers AL-Shaair and Brooks

So the questions remain do they stick with Overshown and his durability issues as the only capable vet LB?

OR sign one so as not to make linebacker such a "must be a homerun" pick type of pressure...?

And if choosing to sign one, at what cost?

Hint: Some real GM'ing needs to take place here.
Hope we've got the right man for the job, lol.

I'd send Miami a 3rd for Brooks without blinking. He's got an $8M base salary this year, and who are you going to draft that's better?
Another TT alum JRod? Jack Kelly. CJ.

Plenty of them but we don’t have a #2 pick and I’m not sure they want to get one of those at 20. Hence the trade talk.

For whatever it's worth, I would easily take Brooks over both Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker, if all three were free agents.

Dean has talent but hasn't been healthy. Got $12M/season. Walker is the Sam Williams of LBs. Got $12M/season.

Brooks is a limited cover LB, but has proven his run stuffing bona fides over and over and over, and has just been way more impactful than those other two.He is probably one of the top 3 NFL LBs that a running back doesn't want to see coming downhill.

They need more cap $$$

14M free right now

But need 15-16M for the draft

20-25M for 2027 rollover

He was a first-team All-Pro last year and has a relatively low salary. I think their asking price is higher than what fans think it would be.
