I think they may wind up punting on LB in the 1st. They love Perkins and he is more of a 3rd/4th round guy. He would have likely been in the top 50 if not for his 2024 knee injury. I can see a combo of either Brooks/Al Shaair and Perkins. With Perkins ultimately replacing Overshown

Living in DC I am able to/forced to watch the Commanders and their coverage.

Wagner is no longer the player he was just two seasons ago. He was a liability in coverage. Washington being willing to move on says a lot. He and DQ have history together yet he is not someone they felt the need to bring back to a bad defense.

Pass on Bobby Wagner. He was what the team needed in 2022 and 2023 but Stephen Jones low balled him as usual. 2026, he is not someone Dallas needs to invest in.

i agree, I think he just keeps being brought up because of name recognition and nothing more.

I actually like Rodriguez a lot in zone coverage. He just has a knack for getting himself in the throwing lanes… probably because he’s an ex-QB. He just knows where to be and his quick reactions and his great change of direction allows him to get there quicker than the QB thinks he will.

We were supposedly covering a trade for Queen so not sure we care much if Wagner has lost some of his coverage ability. Think it's more important we get a guy who's solid against the run, knows where to be, knows how to like people up, can mentor the younger guys, etc. He still gives you all of that. Brooks is also not the best in coverage and we're supposedly in on him as well.

I do think we've shown a propensity to trade, especially lately, so I can better believe that we're in on a trade than I can that we're in on a free agent. Now, that doesn't mean we'll succeed with the trade because other teams also want these players.

Pickens was a luxury, and as much as I love the player, his presence didn't make a world of difference from the year before. Brooks is another story, which worries me we will come this close.....you know the drill

At this point, the Cowboys' front office is merely attempting to encourage their fans by feigning some false considerations of players who they have no serious interest in signing. I've always wanted to sign a linebacker as opposed to drafting one of the guys in this draft.

Yeah... and probably not one the FO has truly explored. I think they value their draft picks at this point more so than looking into these two options. Not a bad thought if they really like some of the LB prospects coming out, but I can't see any of the ones that would fall to DAL making this defense playoff bound straight from college. I could be wrong though.

Nick said today that he thinks that the Cowboys will make a trade for a linebacker before the draft.
