Appreciate the tip. I think those are off the lots and they were only for diesels. Besides, I dont care about the emissionsI would check the date on that VW as they just had a huge diesel/mileage scandal, brudda
Read about it before you buy
Both companies make good cars. I have owned a few VW's over the years including a Jetta. Had good luck..put a lot of miles on them...downside parts are expensive.Any good or bad experiences with either? Were looking to buy in the next week and have found low mileage (around 20,000) used for these two vehicles in the $11k range.
That was a question of mine. Ive heard on some of the German cars, specifically BMWs, you cant even rotate the tires because they are different widths on the front and back...did you find that with the Jetta? Someone said that you can only have the oil changed at a VW dealer. Both companies make good cars. I have owned a few VW's over the years including a Jetta. You may be right, Key. Just do research on that VW. More so than any other vehicle.Appreciate the tip. I think those are off the lots and they were only for diesels. Besides, I dont care about the emissions![]()
Ill have a look into it. Im a little worried about it being German made and the headache that might cause when it comes to repairs and maint. You may be right, Key. Just do research on that VW. More so than any other vehicle.
VW has always had the reputation as that of Volvo and Subaru. Sterling.
Their latest gas controversy should give you cause for pause, and make you extra weary and knowledgable about what you're getting into, before purchasing, my man.
Regarding the tires..No. If a car is under warranty and if that is important to you then you must have the service done at a VW dealership, like any other maker. Warranties are pro rated and I never cared much about them after 2 yrs on a new car. You can change your own oil and filters, that's what I always did especially on a used machine. That was a question of mine. Yeah man, even foreign can be easy to work on, but German will definitely require a manual. And extremely small handsIll have a look into it. Im a little worried about it being German made and the headache that might cause when it comes to repairs and maint.
Tell you something odd about the VW's at least the ones I owned...They have a fiber re-enforced rubber drive belt, instead of chain, It has an adjustable tensioner and this shittty belt must be changed out every 100k km. Its not cheap and extremely dangerous if left unchanged. Word to the wise.Yeah man, even foreign can be easy to work on, but German will definitely require a manual. And extremely small hands![]()
I just got rid of a 16 golf nothing but good things to say about it. We just went to a honda crv for the size.
Did you get the new CRV (2017)?
I’m looking at either that or a new Forester for my wife.

Hell, I changed out a starter on my neighbor's Honda Odyssey. Simple ****, other than needing a breaker bar on the starter bolts
