I Would like to get one of these
One of my best friends has a VW shop and restores old bugs (pre-‘66) and busses. Sends them to Hawaii and all over the country.

Yes, the pictured one is not a camper..that was the confusion. Tell you what, they were a lot of trouble. They had the fiber reinforced drive belt and that ****ed a lot of them.Yes sir....I want one so bad. Iconic
Westfalia was a camper conversion...so the one in the pic might just be a type 2
You know what..they still made those old style bugs in Mexico and Bolivia until around 2000 or so.One of my best friends has a VW shop and restores old bugs (pre-‘66) and busses. Sends them to Hawaii and all over the country.
So the type 2 is better than westfalia or did they have same drive beltYes, the pictured one is not a camper..that was the confusion. Tell you what, they were a lot of trouble. They had the fiber reinforced drive belt and that ****ed a lot of them.
Man that's a money maker. I saw a couple around here and they want 155-165kOne of my best friends has a VW shop and restores old bugs (pre-‘66) and busses. Sends them to Hawaii and all over the country.
I was talking about the camper van. Years ago I changed out a couple of engines (diesel) that had those belts. Word to the wise.So the type 2 is better than westfalia or did they have same drive belt
I'll supply the Rum!! Y quizas la negritas y latinasIma get one and pimp some old school ray ban wayfarers and take a road trip to see trouty. Then we gonna turn south and make our way to panama
If those belts jump puts the Vv's right throw the pistons. End of the engine basically. So the type 2 is better than westfalia or did they have same drive belt
Those are for the 30 window busses.Man that's a money maker. I saw a couple around here and they want 155-165k
Well I got the Wayfarers, too!!!Ima get one and pimp some old school ray ban wayfarers and take a road trip to see trouty. Then we gonna turn south and make our way to panama
Ur right...just checked out the price diff. Those are for the 30 window busses.
But yes, he gets sometimes $40-50k for his bugs.
Those 30 windows are incredibly rare, Loc. If you even see one consider yourself lucky.
That’s a $200k (I see they’re asking $145k) bus. BeautyUr right...just checked out the price diff.![]()
Exactly. My wife had Jetta and we put a lot of miles on it. Drove into the ground almost but the parts to fix it were expensive. Both companies make good cars. I have owned a few VW's over the years including a Jetta. Had good luck..put a lot of miles on them...downside parts are expensive.
Yikes. Whats all that cold looking white stuff all around it. Probably needs some kind of heating device. "Well. its 40 below and I don't give a ****...There's a heater in my truck...and I'm off to the rodeo"Ur right...just checked out the price diff.![]()
I don't fit in either of them so I can't help. Good luck.Any good or bad experiences with either? Were looking to buy in the next week and have found low mileage (around 20,000) used for these two vehicles in the $11k range.

Tell you something odd about the VW's at least the ones I owned...They have a fiber re-enforced rubber drive belt, instead of chain, It has an adjustable tensioner and this ****tty belt must be changed out every 100k km. Its not cheap and extremely dangerous if left unchanged. Word to the wise.
