It's the funny the possibility of going from the greatest SB in history to the worst SB in history(BAL/ARI) just one year later.

This is what you get with free agency and salary cap.......PARITY.

You end up with Arizona hosting the NFC Championship with a 9-7 record.

No, this is what you get when a teams just wants to win more.

I think these playoffs have been good.

Sure, Dallas isn't there and it sucks because of that but its nice to see a few new teams get in there and have a run.

Exactly.

Who the $%^& gives a dam about the Cardinals???
You're right.

Us getting more attention for drama than them getting attention for reaching the NFC Championship is something to pride ourselves on.

I disagree.

When a 9-7 team is hosting a 9-6-1 team for the Conference Championship, it is due to parity and not a desire to win.

Ariozna lost 4 of their last 5 games and they were not even close games either, Pats beat them like 57-6.

So does Arizona "want to win" more than any other teams???...........They sure didnt play like they wanted to win the last month and a half.

Same thing with the Eagles, did they want to win more than anybody else this year as they put together an impressive 9-6-1 record, including a tie to the sorry arse Bengals???

How do 2 teams that could not even win 10 games during the season have a greater desire to win than anybody else in the NFC???

I dont buy it.

I never said it was anything to be proud of, I am just stating reality here. Alot more fans are interested in anything Cowboys than what the freaking Cardinals are doing.

It that wasnt the case, why does ESPN keep leading off Sportscenter with Cowboy news???

Its called ratings...........it is what it is.

Whoever wins, wins. Sorry, just kind of the way it goes in real life. What does it matter what the records are? If Dallas was hosting the NFC Championship game their record would be a smidge better than the Cardinals. I sure wouldn't complain about that.

And taken in the most literal of meanings, I suppose it isn't about who wants to win because all players do.

But taken in the context that it was meant for, wanting to win has a whole lo do with it. I think it was Brandon Jacobs who said the Eagles were just more intense and the Giants couldn't match it.

I haven't seen every playoff game but the ones I have watched have been pretty good.

I see your point my friend, but I still believe that it is due to parity.

The fact that 3 of the 4 teams that had byes all lost proves my point about parity. It used to be that the team with a bye won 80% of the time, but now teams are so evenly matched that a #6 seed is just about as good as a #1 seed.

That is due to parity when almost all the playoff teams are equal in talent.

Narcissism is nice to have. Welcome to the kingdom of the Narcissus the cowboys zone. Yes the world does not revolve around the cowboys, keep believing Tony Romo is the greatest, Jerry Jones is the best, even the Cowboy's bus driver has a story to tell during training camp, and if you fail to understand how great these first two weeks of playoffs have been you should be banned to watching the Texas Rangers play every game next season. Better yet you should just read Randy Galloway. You are really missing a great playoff year. I apologize to those few who really are cowboys fans with no blinders. Go Cowboys

Get a grip.

The points being made are valid. Wait for the ratings for this year's Super Bowl. They will be awful. And I guarantee it won't be just narcissistic Cowboy fans responsible.

And if you're not railing against the argument that "there is no buzz", which is almost certainly going to prove unequivocally correct, are you then railing against Cowboys fans who have less interest in the playoffs because the Cowboys aren't in them? Really? You're really going to get on people who are less interested in something when they have less of a vested interest in it?

So...in other words, you fail to see how anyone else could think like anything but yourself...and then you have the nerve to call THEM narcissistic.

Seriously, you've made my day over here. Thanks for that.

Agreed 100%!!!!! Good post. The watered down version of the playoffs this year is killing me. I can't even muster up the desire to watch the games this year, first time I haven't watched ALL the playoff games on Sat/Sun in a very long time. Just nothing exciting about it.

Yea I feel it. But I live in Green Bay. The WHOLE world has changed drastically up here in the last 7 months. And you don't even have to be a football fan to feel it.

A unique situation with the whole Favre debacle. But I think just uncanny how one individual player can virtually equate an entire franchise.

More bitterness from folks that can't get past the fact that our team didn't make the Playoffs.

The 2008 Playoffs have been excellent and there have been some great games already.

To quote Keith Jackson, The Baltimore vs Pittsburgh is going to be a dandy. Its going to be cold, maybe some snow and you have too pretty physical football teams that can't stand each other based on what happened in their previous meeting.

I think the Philadelphia and Arizona game is going to be very good as well.

The parts in bold don't really bother me. Especially the no story lines.

Im so fed up with Story lines in Football.

It used to be great but it is overly abused. Story lines are so much better in moderation.
