No coach really matters if we don't have the QB

Who can get us over the hump. Yes for goodness sakes we know we can't do anything with Dak due to his contract, and that's strapping us knowing that his play doesn't equate to what he's being paid. We're currently doing our due diligence on coaches, but what exactly can that coach do that the other two couldn't? At this point in Dak's career, can he really be the QB that finally gets us over the hump? With his injury, how will that play out, will he make it through the season. The division that we're in, as you can see has changed dramatically with Washington making a complete 360!

I say this again, what does hiring Shottenhiemer, Deion, Saleh or anyone else going to do if we don't have that LEADER on offense to get us through the places in games where we've known him to struggle for years! Please give your thoughts!
Didn't the Eagles win a Superbowl a few years ago with a backup QB? I think it's because they had the personel to work around the backup and the coaching staff to pull it off....

As my numerous post history on this subject will confirm...
Prior to McFraud's departure, the Cowboys 3 most important position holders to NFL success at GM, HC and QB all were not good enough at their jobs to make the team a genuine contender.

2 of those 3 position holders (GM & QB)are not changing in the next 3 to 4 years minimum.

All this current coaching hire will do is again complete the triangle of ineptitude.

To ever draft both the QB AND hire the HC good enough that can win championships in spite of Jerry will remain a dream of mine.

But the OP is not wrong. So even with all thats been previously mentioned, just maybe QB draft luck can once again smile down on us as it did with the luck of Lamb and Parsons.

Bout all I got.

And faced the Pats the one year in which the Pats did not have a good D. Those that argue points over yardage lose this one, as NE was 29th in yardage that year(on D), but 5th in points allowed. This game shows the problem w/ that. Good teams, especially in the playoffs, will turn those yards into points. In other words, that way might work against the dregs of the league, but will fail almost every time in the playoffs.

We'd have to get a PManning type QB who could run the O. He'd have to work around the ineptitude that always plagues this org.

Still never seen a good QB take a bad team to a SB, ive seen a good team take a bum QB but not the other way around...funny bad teams have a way of producing bad QB's or shall we say "Washed Up" like they forget how to play, while good Teams have a way of "Rejuvinating" good QB's who may have been on the downward...QB matters no doubt but so does the rest of the team building...GM's matter..

The way things are looking we'll have a top 3 pick next year to grab a qb.

ringmaster Jerry
Not a bad nickname. But my favorite is still...

Exactly.
The Cowboys require the elite of the elite at both the QB and HC positions in order to ever have a chance to win a trophy in spite of Jerry.

And for the Jones clan to ever be able to identify/draft that level talent at QB or hire anything other than a yes man puppet HC, is another unrealistic reality Cowboys fans need to face.

It is not the Coaches job to support the vision of Owner and GM.

It is the Owners and GM's job to support the vision of the HC.

If the Owner/GM can no do that, then why did you hire the Coach in the first place???
