I'm really liking David Irving..he has played well and i think can only get better...plus that..he is a field goal blocking machine.

Lawrence over hardy? He's been MIA since drafted except the lions game.

Every snap they've played him on the weak side this season he's gotten pressure. He is wasted on the strong side. He's not built for that. Go watch some film, I have.

Gregory and Lawrence rotating on the weak side would be a great tandem. Even if they keep Hardy, he should be on the strong side with Crawford.

Hope you right because he seems like a bust to me so far.

And to think Hardy was supposed to be the piece that put this pass rush over the top. Turns out we have one of the worst pass rushes in the league, go figure.

I'm serious. Go watch the All-22. The limited snaps he has seen on the weak side he has been really good. He was manning the weak side at the end of the Dolphins game most recently, if that tells you anything. He was on the weak side at the end of that Lions game too.

He's not a world beater, and he's not Hardy from two years ago, but neither is Hardy. He is a plug and play contributor and a good pressure guy on that weak side though. If he is allowed to stay fresh and rotate with Gregory, that would be a good 1-2 punch.

2.5 sacks since his first game doesnt= a 12 million dollar a year contract, Granted he hasnt had much help. Seems like Jack Crawford might be their second best pass rusher right now, which is scary.

He's paid to be a guy who doesn't need much help. If he can't produce on par with his contact without the team spending a ton of money upgrading the players around him then there's absolutely no point in signing him.

I will give the guy credit though. He's not one of these players who basically just give up on a play and start petitioning for a flag when he thinks he's been held or when he's flat out tackled.

In the Carolina game he drew probably the easiest holding call anyone could ever call and rather than just throw his hands in the air he got up and went after Newton and ended up getting in on the end of the play.

Good post. I will definitely give the guy credit for his motor too. I still say he looks a little too heavy in the middle. Then again, sitting out for a year will do that.

I think it's unwise for any team that chooses to sign him to do so until just before camp. You really don't want to be obligated contractually to this guy with months of offseason for him to get into trouble. With his toxic presence, I wouldn't want him around during OTAs either. No one should sign him till the eve of training camp at the earliest.

By all accounts he's a great teammate. What's toxic about that? Even Carolina players and coaches fought to get him back.

No determination yet... no kidding. The plan all along has been to let the rest of the season play out and then address Hardy's status.

Not according to Jerry a couple of months ago. He clearly stated that the plan was to try to extend Hardy long term. I think the Cowboys have backed off that and are using the last couple of months of this season to see what kind of behavior Hardy will be on.
