Sign him up for a 1 year Ro deal. All the side stuff will die down next year if he keeps his nose clean. This team needs talent in the worse way.

This is very well where it might head. I could see him back on another 1 year deal, especially considering rumors that there won't be a big market for him this offseason.

Not according to Jerry a couple of months ago. He clearly stated that the plan was to try to extend Hardy long term. I think the Cowboys have backed off that and are using the last couple of months of this season to see what kind of behavior Hardy will be on.

You are regurgitating a sound bite and quoting it out of context. He did say the plan is to extend Hardy long term... but went on to say the proper time to do that would be after the conclusion of the year with a full season of work to base that decision on.

It only takes one though. Aldon Smith got snatched up pretty fast by Oakland.

Smith's issues are a lot different and don't carry the PR weight of a domestic violence situation.

I think the market for Hardy might be fairly thin out there.

The Cowboys are having a miserable season and are 1-6 with Hardy who's done little on the field the past few weeks. He's not going to be worth the gamble or trouble so I don't expect him back. If the team was having a good season and he was making a huge impact I could see him coming back on a very team friendly deal. He's too much of a distraction and he's not helping us win games.

Hardy! All we keep hearing about is his behavior and talks Jerry and Garrett have been having with him. Everything points to him not being with the team after the season.

What if those talks worked? And he goes the rest of the season with out issue? He made it the Carolina week of all weeks with zero issues.
He was being plastered in the first few weeks. "Guns a blazing" You know how many times that is said? I seriously doubt he meant what the press made that out to be. If all this meant he needed some personal time to get his head straight I don't blame him. I have had to step back from my life once in a while to get my head straight. And I'm not in any spotlight at all.

After what Hardy has been through why does he need a talking to? You would think he's been through enough with an assault charge, being booted from a team and a league suspension that he wouldn't need a talking to. So he made it through Carolina week with no issues so that means his troubles are all behind him and we're home free? LOL The guy is a DISTRACTION! Everything he does is going to create a stir and Garrett and Jerry will be forced to address it. Hardy is a ticking time bomb you just never know when an incident is going to occur with him. He started creating problems with the team before he ever stepped on the field with insensitive comments on Twitter that had a 911 reference that clearly pissed off Garrett and Jerry.

After he was reinstated due to an assault charge he had a physical altercation with a coach on the sidelines during a game. The guy has issues! There's been reports he's been late for meetings and missed some meetings. After all this he still needs to be talked to??? He needs a talking to by Dr Phil not a head coach and an owner/GM. No one will ever get through to him he's trouble waiting to happen. With the miserable season the team is going through and as little as he's done the past few games I'll be very surprised if he's back with the team next season. You simply can't count on a player like him which is why only about 6 teams were interested in him.

I'm not going to form an opinion on weather he's back or not until the season plays out. Every one knew there would be some smoke after the fire was put out including those that matter. Now Jerry being Jerry he HAS to put it out there. He can't resist the face time. But for several weeks now the fire has been put out. I see his production on the field different from you, that's ok.
I'll just wait it out, makes more sense to me.

Hardy started off with a bang with 2 sacks vs NE and has only 2.5 sacks in his last 6 games. He's gotten some pressures but the Cowboys are 1-6 with him and that will play a part in deciding his future with the team. The fact the team has yet to make a determination on his future points to some in the organization being torn on him. All we can do is speculate but I don't see him coming back. The main reason Jerry signed him was because he thought the Cowboys had a legitimate shot at reaching the SB this season and knew the lack of a pass rush is what knocked them out of the playoffs last season. Now with the team appearing to be a long way off from championship contention I seriously doubt Hardy is someone the Cowboys want to count on for their future. They need good character players that can be counted on not a player who's a distraction that brings the potential for real trouble to the organization.

He hasn't made a Tweet since 11/11.

You just said they were distractions that led to 'talk tos' from Garrett.

I didn't say the tweets are what caused talks with Garrett. I said they pissed off both Jerry and Garrett but the talks they're having with him have a lot more to do with other issues than his tweets. Some of these talks have been recent not having anything to do with his tweets.

There's always a bottom line.

If we were 8-3 and Hardy had 10 sacks, his goofy tweets and any other harmless behavior would be totally ignored.

Do I have a problem with him physically manhandling a woman? Yes
Do I have a problem with him putting out the persona that he's an animal? No
Do I have a problem with him saying he'll come out "guns blazing"? No
Do I have a problem with him commenting on Brady's woman and maybe getting in his head a little? No

He did something wrong. As long as he doesn't do it again, indicating an actual problem, I don't care that he doesn't apologize, show contrition, or tame it all down the way the politically correct NFL or media or special interest groups want him to. The guy is unquestionably the best D lineman on our team and the best pass rusher, and because our young pups at DE are such lightweights, he's been forced to play a lot more DT than he normally has, yet he's still fighting 100% on every play. I love his motor and his freakin' football attitude, and I don't care if he thumbs his nose at the rest of the world forever....as long as he doesn't ever get rough with another woman.

I'm not willing to win at all costs or look the other way if he is a bad man who keeps having frays with the law...I would hope we wouldn't stand for that even if he gets 20 sacks. But I am willing to stomach the media and others whining about him not acting the way they think he should act....as long as he doesn't hit a woman again.

This team is desperate for a quality DT, a big sucker who is a run stuffer who can stand up to double teams and push the pocket a little. Put that guy beside the Crawfords and skinny Leon (Irvin), and Hardy and our other DEs will be just fine.

No mega contract, but he deserves a fair contract. Offer him a slightly upper echelon starting DE contract; if he balks, let him test the market. Then sign him to a fair contract unless someone blows the lid off.
