We were headed in the right direction with Parcells. He was building that defense first. He just failed in finding the right QB to fill in around until Romo stumbled onto the scene.

Then after Parcells left we stopped drafting top picks in trenches. We reached for key positions in draft and in trades. By 2010 that team Bill begun building was depleted. All we had left was Romo , Witten and Ware . Romo carried a much lesser team thru the 8-8 funk which without him would have been more like the 5-11 funk Bill inherited.

We had one successful season in recent years in 2014 and are now trying to duplicate why we had success that year instead of addressing our weaknesses from the last several years on defense.

Look at teams that stay on top year after year in Cap era. They continue to draft defense and trenches in 1st and 2nd rd year after year and finding key position talent in mid to later rounds to compliment their elite QB.

Remember the 3 key areas for success this era . QB, protect your QB and pressure theirs. We have struggled in 2 of those areas this era . Now that we have one fixed which took us too long now our QB can't stay healthy so we're still lacking in 2 of them.

While we're grooming our next QB, I'd focus on our DL line so by the time Dak or whoever is ready we'll have at least 2 strong areas again if by then our OL is depleted.

I have said this a 1000 times....this OL is not been the same since Bill Callahan left....players play.. but coaches coach...Garrett hired a Raider OL Coach..Frank Pollack who has proven NOTHING as a Raider or a Cowboy....how many 1st rounds picks on the OL and its in decline....Players need to be coached....

How many times do they need to be coached what they should already know by now? Callahan had time with them. They should know what to do and what not to do.
