No expectations

Let's stick to the topic at hand, and less to insulting each other, please. If you really want to insult somebody, each of you can send me a really nasty PM. I promise I'll read every word. But let's keep this thread for complaining about Peter King and/or defending the media or whatever was going on earlier. Ok?

Ok

That peter king is a moron

Pointing out facts to a fan base that has spent 20 years denying them

Middle of the road, bottom feeders. I don't see the difference. No playoffs in 4 years.

Substantial difference between being a bottom feeder and being in win and your in games the last three years. If you can't see that I don't know what to tell you. Granted we haven't made the playoffs. If you think Dallas would be better this season or any of the last three if Romo hadn't played all I can say is I believe you're wrong, carry on though.

I like how to don't even mention 2010, where Romo was 1-5 and Jon Kitna came in and won more games than him.

And I 100 percent believe we win that win and get in game against tthe Commanders in 2012 if Kyle Orton started. No question about it.

I didn't mention because the team was not in a win and go home situation at the end of the year. My point was pretty clear, you have an agenda so you refuse to see it. You mean like we won the win and go home Eagles game last year? Oh wait, we didn't.

Anyway we hijacked the thread so I'm done. Rant on if you like.

Back on topic, I agree with King. Dallas could very well be the worst team in the division. I believe they have worst defense and they refuse to commit to the run. The coaching staff is undermined by the Owner and the Head Coach (owners own words) is still in training.

I don't see how we have hijacked the thread. This thread is about expectations. My point is that I have 8 years of facts, statistics, and data that suggests Romo isn't going to get the job done. And Kyle Orton played very well in that Eagles game, considerin he had what? a week to prepare? Romo is the main reason why we didn't win that win and get in game against the Commanders. The MAIN reason. That was very winnable and we would have won it if our QB didn't throw 3 stupid interceptions. We just needed a game manager.

King had the 49ers, Packers, Falcons and Giants as the 4 div champs in the NFC with the Seahawks and Saints as wildcards. Eagles and Panthers obviously took the Giants and Falcons spots.

He had the NFC East:
Giants 9-7, actual 7-9
Commanders 9-7, actual 3-13
Eagles 8-8, actual 10-6
Cowboys 7-9, actual 8-8

So he basically had it upside down.

Other gems:

Vikings 9-7, actual 5-10-1
Carolina 6-10, actual 12-4
Falcons 10-6, actual 4-12
Bucs 8-8, actual 4-12

So there are multiple cases where his predictions were way off either way.

Personally, I'm loving the no respect thing going on right now in the season previews.

Peter King has teams the Cowboys swept last year rated ahead of them.

The Skins were 3-13 last year right? But a new coach and the second overall pick....oh, wait. The Rams say thanks. And they're going to be better than Dallas.

The Giants drafted a receiver. So they're going to be better than Dallas.

The Jags? Come on.

Cowboys are a bottom 5 team? Love it.

Bout' time Dallas came in under the radar, if the Cowboys prove to be middle of the pack instead of dead last on Defense we should see 10-6.

'Captain America' the QB who brought Dallas home two Lombardis' says Peyton Manning and/or Tom Brady or Drew Breese wouldn't go more than 8-8 @ best with the worst Defense in the NFL.

32nd Rank out of 32 on Defense is not very Romo Friendly....Zach Martin is and the 16th Ranked D is Romolicious.

Actually, he didn't do too bad with the NFCE. All four teams are basically knotted up there. WAS was a bit of a wildcard last season, but it's not like I couldn't see every single combination raking the four teams in the East as a legitimate option for this season.

I personally don't think King has anything against the Cowboys. Not all media is in that camp, but it's mainly ESPN and some of the local guys who I personally think are intentionally sensational and not interested in actual evaluations.

To the OP's point, I guess it's cool that we're under-the-radar. I honestly wouldn't expect anything less given how bad our defense was, how much we lost, and how (reactively) little we did to fix it. We might well play better on the side of the ball, but it's I'll-believe-it-when-I-see-it after 3+ years of being among the worst in the league and then losing three of our better defensive players.

Your saying Orton would have been better then Romo in that Washington game? Orton threw 2 ints in the Eagles game we lost by 2 points. The same team Romo beat by 2 TDs earlier in the season

He has a lot of teams 4-5 games off of the actual results. That is pretty bad. And that isn't counting the whiffs in the AFC.

Happens every year. People click on it, comment on it, spread it around.

More pageviews = more ad hits = more revenue. The Cowboys generate revenue, and thus they'll always be written about. The only difference is that there is more money to be made by writing bad stuff than good stuff. People don't like to read good stuff.

Let write the good stuff here since no money will be made bashing our team.

We've been bottom feeders with him for the past 4 years. lol.

They almost swept their division with the worst defense in history. Played for the division in week 17 three years straight and coming within 30 yds of winning last year with a backup QB.

Hardly bottom feeders.
