@AP_NFL: BREAKING: NFL says no games will be blacked out on TV during the 2015 season
So games don't have to sell out to be shown locally? Interesting.
This affects a few teams especially, others not at all.
Jacksonville, San Diego, Tampa, Miami, Oakland, and a few others dealt with this.

They never should have to begin with. All these teams rely on public finding to get their stadiums built. The public shouldn't have to fill their overpriced seats in order to see a football team that they're literally footing the bill for. If you don't like empty seats then make the cost of going to a game come in at less than a month's mortgage. Meanwhile, let's broadcast your empty seats and see if you actually have the brains and marketing savvy to fill em up.
Sports bars probably not thrilled with this news
Just the opposite, actually. Now they can carry the local game even if it doesn't sellout. Bars just reset the till, in fact.
I've got NFL Sunday Ticket Max. I don't care.
Ah, you are sitting in the catbird seat.
First time in three years. Been a long time coming. Dropped DirecTV two weeks ago, and went with Comcast for like 5 days. DirecTV called us back with a great offer which included Sunday Ticket. Had to take it.
Now if MLB would follow suit. Baseball has the most ridiculous blackout rules ever. I live in Oklahoma and there are like 5 teams blacked out in my area including the Astros, like I'm going to drive 10 hours to watch the Astros play. Last week I went to watch a pre season game on MLB Network and it was blacked out too and right now the only games being played are in Florida and Arizona.
Sorry for going off topic but this has been festering for awhile and I had to vent
