While nothing was Really going to do anything...The Coaches not saying anything is Pathetic!

I was reading in my FHM mag a Lawrence Taylor story about Parcells doing this one stuff one day during practice.

Parcells was mad and said the team didn't want to be coached so he left and took all the coaches with him.

Taylor said he and Simms knew how to run practice so they did and locked Parcells out.

Parcells was pissed and yelling for Taylor to let him in...which he did after making Parcells wait a little longer. :D

That's what the Cowboys should have done a halftime...Lock his azz out...If he's not going to say anything he might as well get out!

What do you tell a bunch of professionals getting their butt kicked 28-0 at halftime?

The same kind of adjustments the Cardinals made in ALMOST beating the Reskins last week.

Or the same kind of adjustments are the Giants made when they annhilated the Commanders a few weeks ago.

We lost to a weak team.
We're a week team. Face it. Rolling against the 30th ranked pass defense last week got all the homers over confident.

For what he's getting paid he better be able to think of something. It is funny that successful coaches in the NFL make adjustments with their "professionals". Why should Bill be the exception?

At some point the professional players have to play. They arent playing for free either. The way the game started he sure couldnt adjust to conservative could he?

Just heard Crayton say that BP didn't speak to the team during halftime. No adjustment, no coaching, no nothing. He said Drew just huddled with the receivers and talked about getting this thing going, but NOTHING from BP or coaches!!! ***!!!
would you liked it any more if he said "guys, lets win one for the gipper"?

we were down 28-0 at the half so even w/o the pep talk and "adjustments" they did OK after that ;)

This is as embarrassing as the halftime score was. It's one thing the team looked like they weren't prepared or had the right game plan in the 1st half, which the blame is on the coaching staff. But then to not try to talk to the team as to adjustments? I blame a lot of this game on the coaching, as much as I do on the offensive line at least. Parcells is stubborn, when he is right and when he is wrong. Happens to most of us as we get older I think.

Then why have coaches?

For instruction
For guidance
For mentoring

You want BP to run a few routes and make a few blocks? Maybe BP should hold their hands in the bathroom too.

If what Crayton says is true, I am a little concerned about this. Yes, the execution was terrible in the first half, but it seemed the game plan on both sides of the ball was terrible as well. We didn't get one sack or one knockdown on Brunell all game. Our blitzes stink. We also couldn't stop even 3 man pass rushes.

Anyway, we have a bunch of talented rookies and 2nd year/3rd year guys on this team. I think they NEED coaching badly. Not saying anything at half time, well I'm no Hall of Fame coach, but when I see those wild eyes that Julius Jones has half the time, or the lost looks that our offensive tackles have, an encouraging word from the dude that you feel is gonna rip your head off can help.

I've played sports for screamer/disciplinarian coaches all my life. Yes they make you a bit more mentally tough and make you work, they also don't help your confidence and motivation to play well much at all. They just make you hesitant and afraid. This team needs a better mix, since the rookies are hitting the wall as someone suggested in a thread title. Abandoning them at Half Time when it's the first game they've been whooped, well, I think they deserve a bit better than that.

Will be tough to get confidence back and win 2 to get Wildcard now!

Still lots of holes on this team, particularly at offensive line, FB, free safety, and Linebacker. Coaching at both co-ordinator positions, and oline concern me greatly as well.

It was obvious that he gave up when he talked with Pam Oliver and said that it was one of those days....like we haven't heard that almost every time that we've lost this year.

Maybe that IS his speech after every loss....

Maybe the coaching staff just wanted to talk things over and make adjustments to how they make second half calls.
