Don't rush to judgement...if the hamstring is merely sore, it will have no impact at all on his roster status. Guys like Stanback and most of the receivers at the bottom trying to make the team will have no decisions made until they play in preseason games, and they will be given opportunities.
Stanback dropped some balls on days 2-3, but he was also being thrown at because it sounded like he was constantly beating guys deep and using his body for catches in traffic.
Maybe he makes the team and actually has an impact at the #3 or #4 spot when all is said and done; maybe he makes the team as #5 or #6 if we keep that many and all he does is basically play special teams; maybe he gets cut when the first or second round of cuts rolls around. Who knows? All scenerios are possible.
A sore hammy after coming back from knee surgery is fairly common...lucky it isn't an actual pull. They'll take care of him, baby him a little, make sure he's healthy, and give him a chance to show what they thought he had when they drafted him. If he suffers another serious injury that shelves him, then he's likely to receive an unjury settlement and be cut.
I like the potential of rookies like Ogletree, but I don't want to count on them even as backups on game-day. I'm hoping it works out that we have Williams and Crayton as starters; Miles Austin as #3 who comes on with a huge year; and Stanback and Hurd in a close competition for #4 since I'd say Hurd is probably more steady and Stanback more explosive.
time will tell.
