No I. Stanback

He should really take up chess or something :banghead:

From what I have seen this week.....he is toast.....and I have pulled for him big time....but, I am moving on.

Done with this project.

It's surprises me that he's been on the team this long. Well past time to cut your loss here. Great potential doesn't help the team from the sideline.

I'm so glad we had this time together.................
Just to sing a song and share a laugh..............
Seems we just get started and before you know, it's over.................
And it's time to say.................goodnight.
Goodnight Isaiah.

I think he wants to play in Maimi with the guy who drafted him

Jeff Ireland

never liked that draft pick

Darn. I had 50 bucks on "shoulder popping out again."

Don't give up hope, he could fall getting out of the whirlpool.

I've about had it with him too. I'm still holding out the slightest bit of hope for him. But it will take on heck of a performance during the preseason games.

If guys like Ogletree or Johnson show anything......then....goodbye.

from DMN Blog

3:14 We're done with Wade. The most noteworthy thing he said was that the Cowboys would work on the Razorback (their version of the Wildcat) later in camp.

Isaiah Stanback's sore hamstring isn't pulled and isn't a major concern. Phillips said the Cowboys might have rushed Stanback back a bit too soon after he got his knee scoped in the spring.

Don't rush to judgement...if the hamstring is merely sore, it will have no impact at all on his roster status. Guys like Stanback and most of the receivers at the bottom trying to make the team will have no decisions made until they play in preseason games, and they will be given opportunities.

Stanback dropped some balls on days 2-3, but he was also being thrown at because it sounded like he was constantly beating guys deep and using his body for catches in traffic.

Maybe he makes the team and actually has an impact at the #3 or #4 spot when all is said and done; maybe he makes the team as #5 or #6 if we keep that many and all he does is basically play special teams; maybe he gets cut when the first or second round of cuts rolls around. Who knows? All scenerios are possible.

A sore hammy after coming back from knee surgery is fairly common...lucky it isn't an actual pull. They'll take care of him, baby him a little, make sure he's healthy, and give him a chance to show what they thought he had when they drafted him. If he suffers another serious injury that shelves him, then he's likely to receive an unjury settlement and be cut.

I like the potential of rookies like Ogletree, but I don't want to count on them even as backups on game-day. I'm hoping it works out that we have Williams and Crayton as starters; Miles Austin as #3 who comes on with a huge year; and Stanback and Hurd in a close competition for #4 since I'd say Hurd is probably more steady and Stanback more explosive.

time will tell.

That's be too many receivers who are 'solid' but lacking speed in my opinion.

Austin gets hurt (again!) and this team has no real downfield threat.

Name one receiver in like the last 4 to 5 Super Bowl teams that has been a speed burner.

We need a solid football TEAM. Not super-talent at one position.

nice knowing you stanback. please report to the office and bring your playbook with you.

If Stanback isn't the most disliked player on the team I don't know who it could be.

That's only because Ellis and TO flew the coop.

Yeah, but Bobby's been playing well enough right now that he has a reprieve.

derekeagleton Stanback just tweeted (during practice) "The NFL isn't like Madden you can't turn injuries on and off." Thanks for clearing that up!

Josh Ellis, of DallasCowboys.com, reports Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said WR Isaiah Stanback (hamstring, knee) is dealing with a hamstring injury. Phillips said the team may have brought Stanback back too quickly from offseason knee surgery.

Here is a bit more on it in the Star Telegram

Wide receiver Isaiah Stanback just "knotted up" around his knee. Phillips said with the two-a-days, and Stanback coming off his knee injury/surgery, they held him out. Phillips said the 'Boys may have brought him back a bit too soon, but he'll be fine.
Guard Montrae Holland was excused for personal business today and he'll practice tomorrow.
