No Matter Whose Fault it is, we once again went pass happy

I'm so sick of talking about Kellen Moore. He frustrates me to no end.
When Cooper Rush was starting, we protected him with the running game, and we went 4-1.
Dak returns, and he's throwing 46 passes when even Malik Davis was ripping off long runs.
He must think Dak is Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes, so it's bombs away.
We're not going anywhere with Dak and Kellen Moore.

Doesn't really matter who the QB is-- 46 passes is stupid.

1)Our run defense is bad. Teams run stretch plays. East-west running and misdirection.
2)We pass too much. Is that all Moore, Dak audibles, or a little of both?
I've seen a ton of conjecture as to why, but the truth is we do not know, and it doesn't matter anyway.

By his own words, Jerry wants to be socks to jocks. OK, Jerry, then fix the jocks. Or coaches or whatever, but fix it.

I do not disagree but that is not what I am questioning. What I would like to know is whether the owner/GM/president of the Dallas Cowboys is voicing or instructing his head coach, offensive coordinator and/or franchise quarterback to pass more than what they want.

If true, that action would be meddling by definition. And detrimental to coaching and/or player execution on the field.
I think it’s been fairly common knowledge for not just the Dak era but Romo era as well that Jethro is meddling. To what extent we may never know.

But hell yea it’s detrimental to the entire football operations.

Pollard was our path to victory not Dak throwing 50 times. Stupid playcalling.
Or stupid opting out of the play that was called.

At this point, I'm not even interested in pointing fingers. Everyone has their own little scapegoat. Who cares, this is on the GM of the team, no matter how you slice it.

We went pass happy because Dak is the best passer in the NFL.
That is highly possible.

I find it very compelling that the 3rd game back, for absolutely no reason that makes sense, we suddenly go back to pass pass pass. And lose lose lose. Because that is what always happens.

And now, someone needs to dive in, figure out what the problem is, and fix it.

It shouldn’t have mattered is my point.

If a top 10 defense can’t hold a 14 point lead in 4th qtr when the offense has already put up 28 points , why isn’t the defense the focus of criticism ?
It did matter though. Just like the 2 turnovers that led to 14 points mattered. If neither of those happened we win as well. The defense gets some blame of course, but the offense also did nothing in the 4th qtr.

Jerry, you are the GM. Fix it.

We lose when this happens. Are you so incredibly out of it that you don't even notice this? Fix it.
I agree that the Cowboys should have run the ball MUCH more, but the 28 points scored should have been enough to beat GB. The defense really pooped the bed yesterday.

Pardon, but unless I'm mistaken we have invested 20% of our cap to our QB so I dare to question your post in general.
We have a top 10 QB passing should be our # 1 priority!!!!!:muttley:

Unfortunately K It’s more complicated that just fixing it.

Jethro wants Dak to be a prolific elite type QB. He’s not going to pay 40 million for a Rush type bus driving QB.

And his puppets on the sidelines are going to carry that out.
Actually, you said it was complicated, then gave a simple explanation!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If what you're saying is accurate, then it is 100% on Jerry. Not sure that it is, just as I'm not sure about everyone's little theories.

However, it once again comes down to the same thing. The GM. From what you're saying, it's as simple as can be.

Yeah, this discussion is way past that point. That's the shallow fan incessantly complaining part. That's irrelevant.

That number of point is only enough when the O can keep moving the ball. The O was just as responsible as the run D.

I actually doubt that Dak is audibling into pass plays.
He looked a little , shall we say unsure?

No doubt. Jones has tried or successfully meddled in on-the-field football decision-making almost since day one. And it is not like he has not signed off on excessively large player contracts before (Romo, Elliott, etc.).

My interest is in whether Jones is doing what he should not be doing, namely working against his own best interests. It is true the current NFL is pass happy. It is also true every teams' offense cannot necessarily pass as efficiently as the next team.

The team fields capable running backs. Run blocking has not been fantastic but the offensive line has more than done its job more often than not.

If Jones is proactively suggesting or outright telling his coaches and franchise quarterback to pass more than what is planned, it would decrease his own running game's ability to create scoring opportunities.

That is not what any general manager should be doing. It would be nice if the press would intently question him why is his team continually abandoning the run in favor of passing more.

Yes , the core issue is simple. It’s on Jethro.

But everything that intertwines within his meddling and toxic atmosphere is more complicated. We only have bits and pieces of evidence from his actions to his words.

We have no idea, actually. However, the solution is simple. Our GM needs to fix this.

Oooooohhh, your last sentence. Please, please, someone ask him.
