No more laterals, Mike Jenkins

I was pissed when he did it but I look at it as a natural instinct of a player who doesn't have alot of experience with the ball in his hand. He knows he's about to be tackled and sees Newman standing right beside with his arms out basically calling for the ball. The good part about it is thats its on film. It will now be drilled in his head even more to get what you can after an Int but just go down when its time and make sure you keep possession. Its no big deal at all. If he does it again, then maybe it is because he will prove he doesn't learn from mistakes. He has taken such a monumental leap forward this year that I have no doubt he learned his lesson and doesn't want that to happen ever again.

Remember he's young and he's awesome. He's smart and he's learning everyday. I'm sure he won't make that mistake again.

My guess is that the coaches will beat into him to go down in those situations :D

We were winning 34 to 7 when he did it. That is purely the only reason he did it. He was caught up in a huge beatdown win, and like it or not, when you're up 27 points you stop worrying about losing and start worrying about styling on the other team like you're playing NFL street on PS2. I laughed when he tried the lateral.

I'll just echo some of the other poster's sentiments. He is young and still learning. He will make mistakes. But, he has proven that he learns from his mistakes.

He is also not used to having the ball in his hands and that was a big part of it, imho. He is a playmaker and was simply trying to make a big play.

He is a tremendous talent that is still a little rough around the edges, but I'm so glad to have him. He will be a top CB in this league for years to come.

These guys have played football all their lives and are taught not to do this when they are very young. That play was ********... Dallas should fine players for doing ******** things like that -- things like that get you beat in close games.

No excuse for Jenkins. Turned a good play into one of the worst of the day.

Old enough to know that was a stupid play...even more than normal in the playoffs.

Perhaps when you get a little older you will realize that as well....

Who said it wasn't a stupid play? Not me. It was a stupid play, but still understandable. We get embarassed 44 -6 last year by this team. They wanted to pour it on the same way. It was 34-7.lol I have no problem with Mike trying to run the score up. That's why he is my favorite player on the team right now.

Plain and simple it was Jenkins mistake no one else. Having said that I don't think Jenkins does that again. Other than that play and the slip on Mclain Jenkins had another solid game for the Cowboys as did the secondary as a whole. McNabb was having a very rough time finding open men some of that lead to sacks.

If we are up 34-7 again I wouldn't mind him doing that again. only thing better than 34-7 is 41-7

Jenkins will never do that again - lesson learned but why was TNew encouraging it? That bothers me more.
Exactly. T-New's a vet, he should know better.

I was not even mad when I saw that play. The Egirls got the ball at about midfield - so what? As it turned out it was like McFlab completed a pass instead of an int.
