at what point is everyone aware?

No idea. To me it doesn't matter.

It doesn't hurt anyone or anything other than those afraid of the color pink.

Then again my mother had to survive through Breast and Lung cancer so it's more important to me than others I'm sure.

Aren't man enough to wear pink huh? Another one of the cave men still living in the 50's?

Anyone whose bothered by bringing awareness to Breast Cancer (Regardless of what other motives the owners have for it) is a moron and someone I'm glad I don't know personally.
LOL! Internet tough guy going with the name-calling, nice.

People are bitter and complain about something that helps raise MORE awareness to a good cause.

I often wonder why people get so upset over something that is for a good cause. It is like they have to be a jerk because others are so supportive of it so they have to rebel against anything that might be considered good or the norm. They want to be so different they act a fool just to prove they are different.

If you have to complain about some players wearing pink to support awareness of a disease...you might just have to examine your life and wonder why you are so bitter about such things.
It looks stupid. Clashes with the colors of the uniforms.

LOL sounds like YOU'RE the one who's bent out of shape about it, not me. Hope you enjoyed your soapbox!

Yes, this deserved its own thread.

It's October and the NFL has apparently decided to stop their BS marketing/PR campaign of bombarding fans to pink crap for an entire quarter of the season.

About freaking time. It was never about breast cancer awareness. It was a PR ploy to make money and attract more female viewers.
What's your problem, bro? It raises money for breast cancer. My mom, Kristi, died of this disease when I was 17.

Our team is 2-3 and this is what you care about?

Just so I get this straight, you don't like some color being used to illicit more donations towards a deadly disease?

Don't care one way or other. I'm not goihg to change my awareness because I wear black instead of pink.

I always thought breast cancer awareness was a worthy cause even before it took the life of my precious mother. I applaud the NFL for doing something right for many years with the pink for a month. I'm glad the NFL has expanded that campaign to other types of cancer and renamed it the "Crucial Catch".

Sorry for your loss, but you're painfully naive if you think that PR campaign was done out of the goodness of their hearts.

It was a marketing ploy, period.

"Elicit". Trying to sound smart when you're not is never a good idea.

"According to data obtained from the NFL by Darren Rovell of ESPN, the NFL “takes a 25% royalty from the wholesale price (1/2 retail), [and] donates 90% of royalty to American Cancer Society.”

In other words, for every $100 in pink merchandise sold, $12.50 goes to the NFL. Of that, $11.25 goes to the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the NFL keeps the rest. The remaining money is then divided up by the company that makes the merchandise (37.5%) and the company that sells the merchandise (50.0%), which is often the NFL and the individual teams."

So sorry you gullible folks were duped! What's that saying about a sucker being born every minute?

Be sure to buy all the pink Cowboys crap you can. Jerry's grandson needs a new moped!
