No Nick Folk Bashing

The probability of Jerry carrying 1 kicker and teams willing to give up a pick or more likely a player for Folk, may find Folk on another roster and a target for those who have to agree with every single Jerry move.

Well I like Folk....and he's not going anywhere. Buehler isn't nearly as accurate as he needs to be as an NFL kicker. I hate the idea of keeping 2 kickers, but Folk isn't going anywhere.

Nick Folk has been a great find and I dont believe the staff wants him to go. I do believe that the new kicker has been brought in for kickoffs and to spare Folk's leg in the preseason.

I don't know that the plan is to get rid of Folk and talk bad about him when he's gone.

Well, I don't agree with everything Jerry Jones does and there's no pretense about it. Is there anyone here who agrees with everything Jerry Jones does or pretends to agree with everything Jerry Jones does? Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Buehler isn't accurate enough for Jerry to trust him handling the PAT and FGs duties... either both kickers will make it, or Buehler will be gone... Folk is money in the clutch, and Jerry won't get rid of that...

I'd be shocked if Buehler takes Folk's job. The only complaint about Folk is his kickoffs and most if not all of that was due to Bruce Read. He had to directionally kick the ball and kick it really high so the coverage team had a chance. Hopefully DeCammilis let's him bomb it this season.

You're right, Folk isn't going anywhere. Buehler will kick deep and play on the other ST units as a cover guy, etc. to justify his roster spot.

Folk will be our FG kicker because he is money and gets it done in a clutch. Those guys are harder to find than people might think.

I totally agree SB.

Also, Buehler was brought in as a specialist and will be expected to add yardage to our kickoffs as well as to cover and make tackles. In that sense he takes a spot from another STs guy at the bottom of the roster, not that of a starter. If he gets hurt doing that then it's not a great loss as we would just go back to Folk.

If Folk were to get hurt somehow then we have Buehler to fill in but other wise Folk is the guy. Kickers who are money like Folk are rare.

I think Buehler was brought in to be a kickoff guy. Remember, this draft was "about" special teams. And if Folk starts booming them to the endzone, and it is proven that it was Reads "teaching" that prevented Folk from getting more TBs, then Buehler will be gone, not Folk.

Folk is a proven commodity and a probowl kicker, he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

If, however, Folk was to get hurt during the season and Buehler takes over and proves to be as accurate or better as Folk, then Folk might get traded next year.

Nick Folk is one of the best kickers in the league. If Buehler was a punter and kickoff specialist, he'd most likely still have been drafted by this team. Would you say Jerry was thinking of trading McBriar because he's not a dominant kickoff specialist then? Doubt it.

Wow, we went quite some time playing without a reliable kicker and even paid Mike Vanderjagt a kings randsom at the time to fix te issue. It obviously didn't. Nick Folk and Matt McBriar were the only things special about our special teams since Deion Sanders played here. Folk goes to no other team, it's not even a thought in Jerrys head.

I remember seeing Jeff Brown at the time with Seattle being franchised and Elam as well just a few years ago.

I think people are overlooking the fact that Buehler actually has some special teams ability beyond kicking off, such as being able to run and tackle. The average NFL kicker cant do that. So instead of playing 10 on 11 when kicking off, it will be 11 on 11. I love Folk he is clutch, but his kickoffs usually end up anywhere between the goal line and the ten. It would be nice to have a couple of touchbacks per game also. I think they both make the team.

I don't understand where the confusion is. Jerry said the team has already made the stategic decision to carry 2 kickers on game day. Thats why they suprised everyone and snatched the best kickoff specialist to come out of college in a long time who just so happens to be a good enough athlete to help you out in other areas. I don't agree with alot of what the team does or doesn't do but I have no problem at all with this move. It will impact the team and help the defense 10 times more than some bottom of the roster DB like Brown or Battle would.

What the hell are you talking about? So we have 2 kickers, we might need 2 kickers, I see nothing wrong with it. Plus the other kicker is a pure athlete who is able to kick field goals if needed.

I Love the idea of having to very good/great kickers. Plus one can help in other areas.
Folk is not going anywhere.

I don't know anybody who does that, but then 90% of the time I don't understand what nonsense you are babbling about anyway. This thread is just another par for the course.
