Mays has all the athletic ability to be good. Safety is one of the harder positions to grasp at the NFL caliber. Though I dont know how in depth the USC defense is, but Wade is a great defensive guru and if he feels he can teach this kid then I am 100% behind this decision.

Those who compare to RW:

Mays is BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER and seems to have the determination to prove he is the real deal.

Though my views are biased. I have liked Mays for a while, and I wouldnt object to taking either Allen or Burnett.

Obviously you didn't watch RW in college or his first few years in the NFL. He was a complete beast. Mays couldn't hold RW's jock coming into the league.

May's is a workout warrior, point blank. He has no fluidity and no place in an NFL secondary. But if Wade thinks he can use him, I guess I'm on board.

How is it obvious that I didnt watch RW in college? I actually watched RW a lot in college. I have you stats from each player which show Mays is BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER.

Though i do agree he is lacking the fluidity in the hips but I do feel he can be coached to be a great NFL player. Just an opinion. I just think I would hate to look back one day and be like "damn wish we did draft that guy" but at the same time would hate to be like "cant believe we drafted that guy" ala Bobby Carpenter. Which is why the draft is very interesting.

The point many of you are missing is that we have a need at FS not SS. Mays is an SS not an FS. He lacks the coverage skills that we are looking for and I don't think he'll be able to figure out coverage quick enough. Yeah sure the guy is fast and big and can tackle but he can't cover as well as other safety prospects that project to be FS. I don't want a SS I want an FS
