No! No! No! Cowboys are looking at Mays again per sources

Whats your defintion of seeing a player? All 22 view. On tv. Live action. And whats a lot. 4 games, 18 games. I'm just curious.

On TV, I live in the southern region so I see more of those teams, I can't really say how many times i've seen a certain player play but a team like USC for example i've seen Taylor Mays play quite a bit.

the deal about mays, is that some teams say he should be moved to linebacker, thats what im afraid of the cowboys thinking about, he just doesnt have instincts to making plays like interceptions, forced fumbles,

i believe like parcells always said, you are what you are;
granted, darren woodson was moved from linebacker to safety, but darren made plays on the field, mays does not

Here is the deal that most often over look. The draft is about projection. Can you project this player in your scheme. I've never seen Mays play (I must admit) but based on what I read, he is not a cover FS. But he does have some tools. Can you coach up what he has to fit your scheme. Based on what I read, I was one of the first ppl to consider a move to ILB ala Donnie Edwards for Wade. Wade says that he designs his scheme around the players strenghth, and based on what I read, what Mays does well, he does it exceptionally well.

So the question, does he project well to what Wade is trying to accomplish. Only Wade and the Scouts know for sure. If we draft him, I'm ok. If we pass I'm ok. Those guys do this for a living.

I've never saw Mays play, other than YouTube highlights/lowlights. Even if I did, as I wrote earlier, I trust the scouts and Wade to project mays strenghth into the scheme. I'm not for or against. Wade did not draft Roy and we must admit Roy was limited for an AA standpoint. Mays has some tools. Maybe he moves to ILB although I doubt that if we take him in the 1st. Maybe Wade designs a Robber (LB/Saftey) roll for him. I dunno, but our scouts have been money lately. Plus, they do this full time and they have the benefit of projecting to our scheme. Inside information that we do not have.

But, the last thing I want to see is another Roy38 in coverage. So, I hope the scouts and Wade get it right if they do take him. I'm the perfect Monday morning QB, if they get this wrong. LOL

2. Is he big enough.

3. Do the Cowboys not like Jason Williams?

I personally think he doesn't tackle all that well. He does a lot of shoulder tackles instead of wrapping up. I do love all the intanigibles though.

Dude is more like Bobby Carpenter than Roy L Williams.

Great physical attributes, should be better than he is, but is simply not a football player.

Roy was a much better tackler as well.

Roy "Biscuit" Williams was slower than my abuela and Hamlin forgot how to hit and tackle. At least Mays has speed and likes to hit.

NO! but reports are from 2 reliable sources the cowboys are going to bring in and look at Mays the safety again.

They are probably doing this because they now expect Mays to still be there around when they pick. Good idea for them to make absolutely sure that they know everything they can about this guy before they get on the clock.

Nate Allen is a better fit for our 3-4 scheme than Taylor Mays is. We already have a starting SS in Sensabaugh so what we need is an FS which Taylor Mays isn't and Nate Allen is. We want a cover safety and Taylor Mays is RW31 when it comes to coverage.

On that I beg to differ. Think Donnie Edwards. Was much smaller, and less physical than Mays but excelled in Wades 3-4.

If this is true, and I'm not aruging that its not, why will Mays get drafted in the 1st round. A lot of teams have him as a 1st round grade. If this is true, why draft him at all. If all he brings to the table is ST, then he should go undrafted. A max of 5th round. Right

You can't just be fast in the secondary. You have to show quicks too. You have to be able to turn on a dime and run .

And Sean Taylor was struggling on the field before he died. He wasn't ever that great of a player in the NFL and he is 10 times more instinctive than Mays is.

Mays is all straight line speed. He is the best example of those using 40 times as their top criteria screwing up by the numbers. His hips are so stiff they make a week old corpse look lively.
