Signing Dak to a 40 million per year contract is a horrific idea. If your goal is to go between 7-9 an md 9-7 than sign him up. The Cowboys need to be smart and realize we already got the best years of Dak. Very competent QB play and paid him practically nothing his first 4 years and a high salary this year. Sign a cheaper option at QB, preferably a draft pick. Or even Winston as crazy as that might sound he led the league in passing. There have been more crazy ideas that worked. No one that Tannehill was any good.
Dak is a slightly better or equivalent to Goff, Wentz, Cousins
You’re as ignorant as the tick on my ***. Dak’s cap hit will never be 40 million per year. Do you even understand the NFL? Rhetorical question.

You are a moron of epic proportions. You wouldn’t know football if it hit you n the face.
Where did I say cap hit? He wants 40 per year and you will be stuck with a terrible contract for 5 plus years on a guy who is Goff or Wentz... no thank you.

His cap hit will not be 40 mil per year. That’s my point. Argue against that.

no one ever say it is all daks fault but when u pay a qb franchise money u pay them to be the solution not just “not the problem”

franchise qbs elevate the play of every one around them and raise the floor of the entire team. that is what they can do and why they get so much money and why every team in all level of football is wanting one.
Well said

Actually his cap hit will keep growing every year and yes they can try restructuring to get creative but that only yields so much. Plus you are still stuck dedicating an ever growing cap number to a guy who is average.

They’ve planned for Dak’s contract. They have 20 mill in cap space today. That’s with Dak’s 32 franchise tag. They have plenty of money to not only sign Dak but also sign a top defense FA. You don’t win by signing FA’s. You lose. But you may be able to sign one but it will take a log of money and history shows you lose in the long run. The best way to obtain talent is via the draft.

Is Zeke held to that same standard being the solution (team success) after he got paid elite money?

One has nothing do with the other. Sure we say that singing Dak is going to eliminate the possibility of building a defense. However it has more to do with tying yourself to an average QB is going to hinder what your team can do and you are going to have to build something on the realm of the Ravens defense to win.

lol. If this was prime Aikman or Romo and they too wanted elite money, would you be against resigning them?

Dak hasn't contributed to any success. Is it all his fault no. Is he part of it? yes.

Disagree. Zeke and the lack of a consistent run game vs good defenses, the defense not getting turnovers or stopping the run vs good teams has been the major problem.

That’s your mistake. You think Dak is average when in fact he’s great and becoming elite. He’s no Mahomes. He’s no Rodgers. He’s no Brady. But he is a freaking great QB and will be elite. You don’t have the cojones to admit you are wrong about Dak so you double down in your hate. And in the process, you look like a fool.

Yup. Dak haters will never say Aikman was average after 1995 when his teams were no longer stacked. Or that Aikman needed talent around him to be successful.
