I agree. Despite the bad early interception, I thought Drew played his best game since Flozell went down. We won 2 of the last 3 - nobody could have expected all 3 to be wins. Even with the best teams like Seattle, NY and Denver, we're right there tied with 1 minute to go.

Drew was better in the Arizona game, but I thought he played well. I'm not sure what really happened in the first INT. It sort of looked like it was supposed to go to Campbell, but it also looked like it might have been going to Terry Glenn. The second one was an unwise decision, but still a great catch by the Denver DB.

We didn't play great at all. We played pretty poorly overall, but we still should have beaten one of the AFC's best teams. We lost because our offense gave up seven points, our kicker missed a chip-shot field goal, and Denver won the coin toss and made the first big play in overtime.

The only condolence is that this team seems to have proved that even when everything doesn't go well, it's still good enough to play with -- and have a chance to beat -- any team that we might face in the playoffs, with the possible exception of Indianapolis (not that we couldn't win, but we just haven't proved that yet, since we haven't faced a team like that).

I thought we played well on defense, especially considering they were without Henry and had to start a 3rd string ILB who had barely seen the field in his two years with the team sans special teams duty.

Offensively, they moved the ball decently (314 total yards).

I'd say overall they played decent. What killed them was crucial miscues (INT by Bailey and missed Field Goal).

The Denver Broncos are simply a better, more efficient football team. We played great, but when it came down to it, they stopped us and we couldnt stop them.
Disagreed. I am not impressed with denver at all, if they're the second best team in the league, the league only has 1 power house. THey're defense is overrated, offense, inconsistant. We ran like 20 more plays (going off a comment from dan marino). We, sadly, might have the ever dreaded choker symptom...we don't seem to be cool under pressure...

i dig the positive energy most posters are sending out. the Cowboys have truly come a long way in a short time. we know what the weaknesses are (i.e. kicker, O-line) and we can assume the front office is going to make the appropriate moves this off-season.

every Cowboys' loss was down to the wire. this team is fully capable of making some major noise this year. and they can be a legit championship contender next season with some minor tweaking.

they gave Denver all they could handle today. 3 outta the next 5 gets them in to the "tournament". it's eminently do-able.

Against Denver, we couldnt have played much better in the second half, especially on defense.

We could have played MUCH better in all phases, even in the second half. Our defense allowed a 90-yard touchdown drive in the third quarter and Dayne's 55-yard run in overtime. Those are two things our defense hasn't done very often -- if ever -- all season. The offense stalled three times in Denver's territory in the second half. One of those resulted in our kicker missing a chip-shot field goal -- something our opponents haven't done in more than three years. The only points we scored in the second half came when we started at Denver's 10-yard line. The only sack we allowed all game came in the second half on a third-and-5 from Denver's 39, killing a potential scoring drive. And we failed to convert on second-and-2 and third-and-1 on back-to-back plays inside Denver's territory with 2 minutes left in a tied game.

I'd hate to think that we can do all of that and still say "we couldn't have played much better."
