If you were a player and had a pregnant wife, would you chance it and play, knowing the possibility exists you could contaminate your wife and possibly your unborn child? That's the safety I'm talking about. Football injuries happen regardless. Eagles lost their top guard working out on his own.
So...why don't the players play the full pre-season games? Yes...SOME of it is to evaluate bench players. But the term "camp bodies".....is to fill the roster so star players (heck even 2nd stringers~!) don;t have to play. Why? They don't want them injured. Why? Well sure..."meaningless games".....but they aren't really in full season condition yet. This will make it MUCH worse.
It is my opinion..that people in general.....assess your own risk and fear. But...if you don't work...you don't get paid. Or receive the same bail out check everyone else does. Depends on how gold diggin' the wifey is now.
We face danger and risk all the time. You mentioned Eagles I will go ahead and mention Erik Williams. And Josh Brent. YES...I GET IT! I went off tangent just a little bit there. I admit it. My point is life is filled with risk.
But.....if we put some safeguards in place...we can reduce risk. And if you don't wanna...then don;t. And pick up your 1200 dollar bail out check at the front desk. Like the rest of us.
I'm actually a little surprised the mods are letting us talk about this here instead of the 'rona page.
