No Respect

While I generally agree with that premise we did win the division last year, and by placing us behind the Eagles this year tells me they think our success last year was a fluke, and the Eagles lack of success was a fluke.
It tells me they are aware of the inconsistency in this division from year to year. Been what 15 years since a team repeated as champs?

Well every time we are picked to do anything we fail. The Eagles did win a Sb a couple years ago. Plus nobody repeats in the NFC East lately. I don't think the Eagles are all that great but who knows what happens in the division. The media always loves the Eagles so no real surprise at that. I think the Eagles are overrated.

Not surprised, I expect no respect every year.
And it has nothing to do with "earning" respect as said above. Even when Dallas teams earned respect, they still did not get it.

They did EARN respect last season. From 3-5 to 10-6, and 1-1 in the playoffs. That should get some respect, and especially from winning the East over an Eagles team coming off of a SB win.

It is more like Dallas does not get respect from many of its own fans.

In the next few days, I’m taking a flyer on the Boys to win the Super Bowl. $500 to win $12,500. I feel more optimistic about this year than I have in a long while.

Been thinking of doing the same thing of putting some $$$ on it. From $200 to $500. Not sure the amount yet.

if I didn't need $500 I would do the same thing.
I’m a bit of a minor gambling enthusiast. Trust me, I could use it but I can always find a way to save a few bucks over a couple of weeks or be able to pay it with my other winnings.

Not surprising the Cowboys haven’t made the playoffs in back to back years since 06 and 07. Every time they make the playoffs they miss the playoffs the following year, that’s been the theme for more than a decade. The Cowboys can’t seem to build off a successful season. It’s up one year and down the next. They perform better when expectations are low. When everyone counted them out last season at 3-5 that’s when they began playing their best football of the season. High expectations lead to disappointing seasons and low expectations lead to successful seasons. That’s life with the Cowboys!

The Eagles finished a game behind us and went as far in the playoffs as we did. They might have been on doinked pass from being in the NFC Champ game. So it's hard to get all uppity and crazy over this.

Frankly, this team plays better as underdogs than favorites. So if they can muster some focus from feeling they have been slighted, all the better.

Looks like another year without much respect from the oddsmakers, and media.

A couple of questions:
1. What is your definition of respect?
2. What have our Cowboys done to garner respect from anyone besides us fans?

To me respect is something a team earns by winning in the playoffs. We haven’t done much of that in a long time. So I don’t mind being “disrespected” at this point. I look forward to our team earning some respect this year. It’s the only way to get it.
