No Romo Press Conference?

Maybe I've missed something, but I have yet to see a Romo retirement presser. He talks about it on radio programs & in the Dallas Morning News, but I'd be very disappointed if he just walked away without saying goodbye & thanks to the Cowboys & Cowboy Nation.

You most likely won't. Tony will likely do a "Slow Roll" or Semi-retirement process that will take a year or two to come to fruition. He will
see how this TV gig works out and how many calls he fields this fall for his football services. He's a free agent now and while it's likely
he will no longer play NFL football, he would be crazy to close any doors on future opportunities. He may give a quick goodbye when he finally
files his paperwork with the NFL but, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen anytime soon!

I think this is about as close to a goodbye presser he has given other than talking in radio interviews.

I'm curious to see when he will sign and turn in his retirement paperwork to the NFL.

Tony is waiting for Jerry HOF induction, he will announce it them to upstage Jerry....J/K...
Maybe if designated a June 1st cut / retirement it will happen then.

I also wonder, if Tony and Jerry had an agreement. Since there was not going to be a trade for Tony, and Jerry didn't want to risk an outright release at that point. With the health concerns added.
Tony would retire, and Jerry then would release him. That way Tony did not have to repay the prorated portion of his signing bonus. And Jerry would not have haters saying he was fleeced again on not recovering any money owed back from a player. And tony would not go sign with another team. A win win for both in all regards to the hating fans and media.

Yes, and FIFY!

What would he say in a presser that he hasn't already?

Even if he turned his retirement papers in, he could always come back or whatever, so it's like like turning it in makes anything concrete.

Nah come on guys, you have to admit this is kinda strange.

Also weird that Ware didn't sign w/ the Cowboys before retiring.

If Dak Prescott gets hurt and lost for the season, who do you think the Cowboys are going to call first? If another really good team is having a great year and they lose their starting quarterback for the rest of the season, who are they going to call first?

Look what the media did to Brett Favre .. retired, unretired, retired, unretired .. it became a joke, mostly due to media speculation and them camping non-stop around his property, rather than Favre himself.

I don't blame Romo for simply leaving. This way, if he returns, he can say, "I never said I was retiring!" but if he doesn't, he gets to go out the way he wanted. Because the Cowboys cut him, he doesn't even have to file retirement papers.

Let's see. Romo working as lead for CBS, Dak goes down with injury, Romo walks out on CBS straight to Cowboys. Something stinks.

I think if they actually file the papers, there is a waiting period before they can play again.
maybe even a year off.

about tony coming back, CBS would have to be ok with this all along, maybe in the contract or deal they offered.
I think dak would have to be out for the season for this to happen. Tony is not going to fill in for few weeks, and then dak
takes over again lol.
So not only would dak have to get season ending injury, it might need to be late in the season.
similar to carr last year, team in playoffs, season about over.
The odds on that happening to dak are low real low.

Now the texans or another team wanting tony is more likely, but I dont know if he would be interested in that.

Thing is the texans must have not made a decent offer to tony, and denver may have said they didnt want tony unless FA and cheap.
So then tony takes the cbs deal, since teams are not showing him any respect.
I think he is not as brittle as people think, but teams evidently think he is 90% likely to get hurt, so dont want to invest in him.

For tony playing for 2-3 mil a year is a insult almost as bad as being bkup.
I would like to know what houston offered.

But since teams sort of didnt wanna pay or take a risk on him, and cowboys ejected him in favor of dak, I dont
see tony stepping out of a warm booth, to go play football in the cold, for the HC who wouldnt let him come back last year.
I guess he might do it for jerry if cbs was ok with it.
It is all a very remote possibility of happening

As any rational person would guess, it would be a painful thing to watch, Romo, after a 1 1/2 year layoff, come in and try to lead any team. It would be the ultimate humiliation for Romo and his he Cowboys.

But, if Romo were to go to the mini camps and then camp, then, yes, he could get back into shape and do his thing and maybe do a plausible job. Albeit as a 37-old man and with a history of granny bones.
