No RPO until the end of the game?

Dak was missing throws, the OL struggled, the receivers were not getting open, but ultimately, IMHO, I think the OC deserves the biggest amount of blame. I think Zeke needs to get 25 to 30 carries a game. Until this offensive funk is over, Dak needs to get 4 - 5 designed runs. I understand trying to preserve him when the offense is clicking, but right now I seriously doubt it can get much worse. Also, I would like to see 1 or 2 deeps shots a quarter. We have some speed, Thompson, Austin, Gallup, Butler is coming back. Use it to threaten the defense. I would also like for them to settle on a WR rotation with 3 - 4 of the receivers.

Because the staff or Dak is a idiot. Either Dak audibles out of it. Or Linehan don’t call it. It’s what sparked the Offense last week. Also no deep shots down field.

This is the same game plan as week 1. He holds the ball all day.

In an RPO, the quarterback hands the ball off or throws it. Manning and Brady run them all the time. In a read option, the quarterback either hands the ball off or keeps himself depending on whether or not the defensive ends crashes down.

I’m sure there are versions of the RPO in which the quarterback can run, but it’s not a necessary component.

I get you Scipio. Read option dependent upon the track of the edge rusher - inside (crashing) or flat. The RPO simply provides a third option with a dedicated 'hot' route receiver, usually the slot guy based on the read of a LB.

RPO wasn't going to save Dallas in this game. I believe there is much deeper more serious issue with Dak confidence as he continues to regress. RPO is simply putting band-aid on gaping wound that is bleeding out.

How wouldn't it have saved us? Seahawks offense sucks. Dak has confidence issues so why wouldn't you run more read option things to help his confidence.....it makes no sense.

The same reason you would give your struggling young QB no solid WR's or even starting quality TE and decide that all the money and draft capital spent in developing a running game and call yourself a running team then go pass heavy instead.

Right? People can place blame wherever but having Zeke only run 16 times is just stupid. No designed runs for Dak either. But Zeke has a bad game imo. Runs 2 routes to where he steps out before the pass is thrown without a defender around. Dropped a few passes and I know of one on third and 5. His blocking was legit but he had a bad game with his awareness which is just plain sad. But they need Dak to let the damn ball go once in a while. Stop the short **** and get Gallup down the sideline. At least attempt it a few times a game. Linehan needs to be done and Garrett can go too. Kellen Moore as well

In theory, the RPO isolates the defender with run/pass responsibility and waits for him to commit before throwing or handing off. Dak misread the RPO a couple times today I think.

My guess is JG. If something works well, you'll never see it again with him. He did the same thing when he was calling the plays.

I remember a game against the Ravens where we ripped off four 6 yard runs in a row. He then called a goofy play where Miles lined up in a backfield and we hand the ball to him. He lost like 10yards and the drive stalled.

Similar thing happened against the Lions. The game we lost while leading by 3TDs at the half.

Ive been screaming for basing our offense around the Read Option since last year they just arent willing to do it. I wish they'd bring in Rich Rodriguez as a consultant former WVu coach who knows the read option and RPO like the back of his hand.

I said that before last game. They need to dial up a deep shot early and tell Dak to throw it as long as he has 1on1. They should do that at least 3 times a game, let it fly as long as you have single coverage. let the defense know, we will throw deep. It worked with Tavon and woulda worked with Gallup, if he hadn't dropped it last week. Dak has been coached to take care of the ball, but sometimes they have to have him let it fly. Some of that is on Dak and some of that is on coaching.
