No spot for LB Rolando McClain in Cowboys' new locker room, but Randy Gregory has one

I agree with you completely on Gregory. Though, you have to wonder if a career in the NFL is important enough given the issues he's dealing with. That spotlight, and the ups and downs that come with a team sport. The stress. It might just be not in his best interest to keep going.

Either way, I feel for the dude in a way I don't for most offenders of the policy. He's frying bigger fish, and people should really be more sympathetic about it. It's a bigger deal that just the fact that it disappoints us fans and hurts his teammates.
I just wonder why the team burned a 2nd round pick on a guy with mental health issues that were fairly known around the league beforehand. I guess they were gambling he would turn it around like they are gambling that Jaylon's nerve will ever fire again.

I just don't understand pissing away 2nd round picks year in and year out like they are skittles. You can take chances and gamble on players that high if you are a perineal playoff team like the Pats, not if you have 1 playoff appearance in half a decade.

The stress of the job is really something that will cause him issues - I just don't know it is going to be good for him.

But who knows, maybe he's never really had good care

The stupidity lies with the grown men who continually hit the bong knowing that they work for an employer that will suspend their dumb arse if caught.

The NFL policy is actually pretty lenient. Most employers have a zero tolerance policy and will fire your arse after your first failed test.
Yeah funny how money talks;) Warren Sapp, Mark Stepnoski, Ricky Williams, etc. They want that talent on the field or the best of both worlds. It would be naive to think these are the only players smoking marijuana in the league, they just got caught. There are habitual offenders but you also have the "randoms" who have established careers.

Yeah. Stupid Randy Gregory, choosing to have mental health problems. How stupid do you have to be to choose to be mentally ill?
What mental health problems does he have besides addiction? I haven't heard anything to suggest he has mental health problems. The boy likes his weed. Saying someone has mental health problems every time someone gets in trouble is a copout.

*edit. Did not know he suffered from anxiety, etc. Disregard, and my apologies.

Second round picks are only 60-40 to being with....if you can get a top 10 talent then it is worth the risk

I'd quit for millions but then again, I don't have to deal with manic-depression, cancer, chronic pain, seizures or anxiety (all seem to so show a therapeutic use for marijuana). If I did, maybe I'd think that this plant that is helping me live a semi-normal life is worth more than the millions of dollars I'm being paid. Not sure.

Regardless, Back on Subject. I hope Gregory get's his stuff together and isn't another 2nd round bust for us. Can't kick McClain off the team soon enough.

Pot should be legal.
Next the NFL chooses to test for it.
3rd players like Step have used it for pain management.
The NFL Doctors will gladly shoot a player up with worst drugs that don't get a player suspended, where's the outrage with that.

You got me. Granted, he seemed like a top-5 talent there at 60, but the team had to have better information on what his issues were. It was yet another unnecessary risk with a premium draft pick.

And I"m all in favor of taking risks on troubled but talented players. They just need to not include the high picks.
