Firefighters are not afraid of heights...

:)
Never have been. I've cliff jumped from about 65 feet and I would go higher than that. I've never really understood fear of heights.

I don't fear heights. I just fear falling from heights. If I'm high up, I fear people near me while I'm there more than I fear being high up.

I guess I understand. I won't do things like that one tower job video they showed for exactly a reason like that. I was fine with the guy going up there. I'd have freaked about the other guy coming too.

Me and friends went to Kings Dominion several years ago and they wanted to stay in the water park most of the day and I wanted to ride this, and the line moves incredibly fast because:

1. It seats so many people.
2. Lots of people won't ride it, even coaster freaks.

So I rode the thing like 10 times in a row before going onto something else.

The first time I saw the sign for Kings Dominion on the highway I was like "What kind of crazy town name is that and why does it get a brown sign?"

:laugh2:

I won't ride those either, and I do like roller coasters.

Wet and Wild (Hurricane harbor now) has one. It's called Der Stuka.

There is nothing to be scared about. They are completely safe. Just keep your legs crossed so they don't fly open when you hit the water at the bottom. (it will force them apart)

I do like heights and the vantage point of being high. But plummeting from great heights physically bothers me now.

Kings Dominion is great, so is Busch Gardens.

Didn't used to be araid of heights. Walked top plate 35 feet up dragging 200lb+ trusses and rolling them. Not to mention laying them out and having to walk backwards for this process. Now.........not so much.

I'd do it because I'm of the 'ilk' that loves the feeling of a thrill.......once. That's enough. Kinda like bungee jumping.......I loved it, once.

I just can't be around that kind of stuff and have to wonder for the rest of my life what that would be like.

Yep... been on that a few times...

The only really scary part is the initial takeoff because when you get to the end of that straightaway right before the drop, you have the sensation of free falling. Once you start down it's no big deal... and it's fun...

Yeah I've been on that more than a few times. It's fun. I guess if you have a fear of death it could be scary, you lift off the slide for a split second on the descent.

I would have a friggin heart attack. The End.

They should have made the slide out of transparent Plexiglas to heighten the scare factor.

Hell yeah, they should have. That would have been amazing.

Meet me in my backyard around 3 PM. Bring tools, beer, and several thousand feet of Plexiglas.

You can probably cut costs by using any number of players from our roster.

:lmao:

Been on one of those before. The only scary part is when your body leaves the slide for a half second because of the angle.

They are fun.

The only part I don't like about them is where the slide panels come together. If the seam isn't tight, you feel it rake across your back!

Whats worse, leaving the slide for a split second, or the slide's seam raking across your back? :laugh2: I will take leaving the slide for a split second every time I get to a slide seam!

Means, they probably put it together wrong or allowed people on with the wrong swim suits.

The rake would certainly irritate me more, but as I said that split second is the only thing that is remotely scary.
