This is my extremely realistic mock draft. I tried to only pick players that are likely to be there at the pick I am taking them

Round 1: Marcus Peters (CB, Washington) - There are enough quality CB's without huge character concerns available to realistically see Marcus Peters make it to 27. Peters can start on the outside from day one and play any scheme you need him to. Peters has had issues with coaches but one of his greatest strengths is his confidence. In my opinion a big reason for Morris Claiborne's issues has been a lack of confidence and swagger.. Peters doesn't have that issue at all.

Round 2: TJ Yeldon, (RB, Alabama) - Most underrated RB in the draft in my opinion... I would take him over any RB in the draft not named Gurley and Gordon and by pick 60 they will be long gone. I also believe Jay Ajayi and Tevin Coleman will be gone as well which works out fine for me because I think Yeldon is the better player and is a perfect match for this zone blocking scheme.

Round 3: Frank Clark (DE, Michigan) - Are the Cowboys willing to bring on two troubled defensive ends in one year? we are about to find out. I don't think Clark makes it to the bottom of the 4th so I think if the Cowboys want him they may have to snag him up here in round 3. Clark is already better than guys like Ben Gardner, Kenneth Boatright, Jack Crawford, and Lavar Edwards so it is a safe bet to assume he could contribute in year 1.

Round 4: Chris Conley (WR, Georgia) - The Cowboys brought in Devin Smith for a official visit as well as privately working out Conley... To me this suggests that the Cowboys are finally looking for a true deep threat receiver and Conley could be a great fit for this team.

Round 5: Tray Walker (CB/FS Texas Southern) - Walker is my pet cat of this draft.. At almost 6'3 he has incredible length and by this time in the draft you are mainly looking for traits..Walker is a long, physical, and aggressive corner that also can make the switch to free safety... With drafting Peters in the 1st round you aren't really depending on Walker to see the field in year 1 but he has the tools to be an impact player with some coaching.

Round 7: Laurence Gibson (OT, Virginia) - Another player the Cowboys have shown some interest in. Gibson has the athleticism and foot quickness to play left tackle which means he is a perfect fit to be a developmental swing tackle if things with Darrion Weems don't end up panning out.

Round 7: Darius Allen (LB, CSU Pueblo) - Dallas had a private workout with Darius Allen and he seems to fit the mold of an "Otto" linebacker they have been looking into.. Allen could play SAM LB as well as maybe rush as a DE.

I would think Peters is off the Cowboys board however if they give their approval [coaches] this
would be a good draft.

He's not off dallas board

That is correct. If he was, they would not have made a visit. Now, they could take him off if they were not happy with how he responded, but he has gone through their vetting process.

Too many character-issue guys. Yeldon will last to the third round, maybe fourth.

Too early for a last mock... Especially if they are good ones like this one.

Clark went from not talked about to superman on this board in the span of like a week. He's not a 3rd round pick.

Not sure of the value of Yeldon at 60 either. I think we'd be better off waiting til the 3rd for a RB if he's best available in the 2nd

Here's my only issue and I'm seeing this alot not just from your mock. If you are going to say that it's extremely likely, you should only use players that the Cowboys have had in for a visit.

Yeldon and Clark taken at least one round too early.

Dallas is drafting near the end of each round. Barring trades (and this is a no trade mock), nether player will likely be available when Dallas is on the clock. I have no problem with taking a player a round early under this circumstance.

I understand that, but if there are better players available, it doesn't make sense taking a worse player.

Not long ago Yeldon was rated by some to be a 4th round pick... I greatly distrust this all of a sudden "Yeldon could be a second rounder" stuff.

And with Clark's baggage I can't see him as a 3rd rounder.

Way to early for Yeldon, he's not under-rated at all. He's a 4th-5th round guy who may not handle a full time role in NFL, he doesn't look like a top 5 back in this draft. He's got a quirky running style with choppy steps and no break away speed. I like his vision and running between the tackles but he's gonna get lit up IMO.

No thanks on Frank Clark. I like Conley and Gibson where you have them.

I like to see a few reasonable mocks. We rarely see any mocks where players would actually be available at the picks.

I like ALL of the players.

It might seem like Yeldon and Clark are a bit early, but I doubt if they are available a full round later.

Very realistic mock. I like it.

There will be a run on RB's in the 2nd round. We'll be lucky to get the guy we want.

I like the mock a lot, though I don't know if the Cowboys would risk a 1st on M Peters.

Good stuff and well thought out.

There's at least a chance all of these guys are there where you pick them.
And every single one has had a visit or private workout.
I also like the skills of each one of them too.

If I had an issue it'd be that I would never burn my 3rd on Clark and I have a hard time imagining that we would take BOTH Peters and Clark. Talk about cornering the market on knuckleheads.

No doubt that the teams talent pool would be upgraded though.

maybe not but posters need to stop mocking him in round 7 as an after thought, guy will go before end of round 4, he is just way too talented , isues or not
