Not a fan of Broaddus, but wonder if he uses anything he hears in the "halls" to make his top 50 list. He said he has Spence at #5. Wonder if the 'Boys view him this high?

I actually think Broaddus wants us Cowboy fans to believe he hears things in the "halls". The next best thing to being in the know, is acting like you're in the know.

Was listening to one of the several Cowboys podcast earlier today and one of the all knowing host said something to the effect that the Cowboys are less worried about the drug problem as he has put time and repeated test in to prove hes capable of exercising some self control, but more worried about his general character and the kind of person he is.

I think we all know the biggest issue with Gregory's suspension is the likelihood of another more severe one. Same with Dlaw to an extent although I believe they are considerably different circumstances.

So I guess if you trust his character you can trust his ability to stay clean and do whats right for the team. How we trusted Gregory's character is beyond me.

Honestly It doesnt feel right attacking anyones character because they smoked pot but none the less Gregory hurt his team. The question is Spence the same kind of selfish ignorant person?

I am not a huge fan of Broaddus, but I will give him this, during the live draft show last year he was right with about 75% of the picks. To the point that it was surreal and they were all mocking him for how accurate his picks were. This was actually during the draft though, not a week before it.

As for Spence, I think you only take him if you're essentially ready to just completely move on from Gregory. Otherwise, I think you go interior pass rush and guys with more versatility, and bite your fingernails hoping Gregory and/or DLaw stay clean.

Personally, I am not worried about Lawrence. I have no doubt his bust was due to him trying to recover from surgery.

You guys realize that even if Noah Spence is off the draft board, Stephen would still say this, right?

He's not salvageable. Anything we get out of him from here on out is a bonus, but he can't be relied upon.

I love how this team just pisses away 2nd round picks like they are freaking skittles............this is what we have done in the 2nd round the last decade.

2015.......................Gregory (suspended)
2014........................D Law (suspended)
2013.................Galvin Escobar (never used, injured)
2012..................no selection, the pick was used in the trade for Claiborne (LOL, great move)
2011.................Bruce Carter (average at best)
2010.................Sean Lee (stud when plays, too bad made of glass)
2009................no selection (the famous "special teams" draft)
2008................Martellus Bennett (actually turned out to be a good TE, after he left Dallas)
2007................no selection
2006................Anthony Fasano (played for just 2 seasons, then joined the Dolphins)

Note that Sean Lee is the only player on this list that received a 2nd contract..............that is horrific drafting and Garrett has been the head coach for 5 of those drafts, so its not like he is doing much better than his predecessors.

Like him or not, Broaddus hear things for sure.

Just listen to him during the draft and it's obvious. Honestly, we are lucky to have the access that Broaddus gives us

There is literally no way we draft Spence at 4. Everybody should know that, no offense

Ware was a mid second round pick two weeks before the draft

All of a sudden, ppl were talking about him going top 10 and we were lucky enough to draft him

what was known 2 weeks ago means nothing when the draft actually starts

Spence is weak vs the run. You need some DEs who can play the run and rush. If all your DEs are going to be 250ish, you shouldn't be playing the 4-3.

Don't really like his size.

Looks great on film, but the guy has less length than Dez.

That cannot bode well against some really good LTs in this division.

It's baffling and infuriating. These should be fairly easy, early picks...with fairly high probabilities to succeed. I realize hindsight is easy, but come on:

2015....WR Tyler Locket, or WR Jalen Strong, or CB D'Joun Smith
2014...two picks used. So WR Allen Robinson, or WR Jarvis Landry, or QB Garrofolo,
PLUS OG Trae Turner, or Dante Moncrief, etc
2013...RB LeVeon Bell, LB Jamie Collins, RB Eddie Lacy....think I'm sick
2012..LB Bobby Wagner orWR Alshon Jeffrey, or QB Russell Wilson....unreal
2011...LB Justin Houston, or WR Randal Cobb, etc
2010..ok...Sean Lee is a stud...though injured a lot
2009..RB LeShon McCoy, or S Sean Smith, etc
2008..ok..M. Bennett ok....passed on J Charles though, etc
2007..C/OG Ryan Khalil, etc

Insane

Because you know these teams routinely talk about these things in their hallways. Where do we like this guy? Please join me out in the hall. Standard operating procedure.

He had Devin coleman in his top 20 last year so I'm not so sure about that

I would hope that we don't add anyone else with a drug problem. Now if he truly doesn't, I guess it would be preferred over other options, but I just don't trust him.
