He will be in Carolina next season.

No guarantee Fox will be gone. Owners love him and their issue is the QB, the rest has been pretty much fine. They may give him a chance to draft a QB in the first round and see what they can do.

Plus, I think if Jerry wants Cowher, he gets him. Better overall talent, fantastic stadium, much more prestigious history and Jerry isn't afraid to spend the $$$ if he wants something.

If the season continues on it's .500 path then Holmgren will be the next HC.

I was thinking about that too but who would be his DC and would he keep Garrett around and try to mentor him??

Jerry sure did love him some Broncos yesterday.

Makes me wonder if he's already looking at Nolan to replace Wade next season as the head coach in Dallas.

very doubtful...and Nolan did an awful job in SF

If this season ends in the smoking crater that I expect, Jerry will have no choice but to for a big name, and give him some room.

I think we make a run at Cowher.

His coaching style fits our personnel, not only on defense, but on the O-Line and with the running game.

Plus, Jerry wants to sell tix. He wants 90,000+ for every single game. And he wants an occasional 105,000+ each year. Tough to do that without a big name coach. Cowher is really the biggest name out there given he won the SB in '05. Plus, he's had great success with absolutely lousy QB's like Bubby Brister, Tommy Maddox, Neil O'Donnell, Kordell Stewart, etc. Even a mediocre version of Romo is better than most of the QB's he's had. And he's that tough and intense disciplinarian we all want and he's only 53 years old.

His offenses are not too different schematically from Garrett's. I don't think Jerry cares to be on the hook for $3 mill/year for Garrett when he's not the O-Coordinator, so you get a guy like Cowher who keeps Garrett on and forces the offense to run more.

YAKUZA

Well said. Cowher is the perfect coach for us. He fits the defense like a glove and his overall mentality fits the OL.

I'll be surprised if Jerry doesn't make a run at him. And I think he'll make Jerry take a back seat.

I like John Gruden, and I think the next coach will be an offensive coach.

Wasn't Gruden originally a QB coach??

I said this before we hired that space filler they call Wade but no one listened. Enjoy watching what could have been enjoy success in San Fran... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Oh that's right.. We're supposed to be speculating on forward movement and not saying I told ya so...

In that case...

Just get Wade the hell outta here... That would be a positive 1st step.

I'm just sick of these retread coaches that keep getting rehired. Look at Eric Mangini he does a lousy job in NY and gets fired then the Browns waste no time in hiring him. Now the Browns are the worse team in the league. :lmao2: Wade was a proven failure as a head coach when Jerry hired him. He proved it on an interim basis twice and a full time basis twice. Now he's proving it for a third time. Jerry wanted a yes man who would jump at the opportunity to coach the Cowboys. Hope he's happy!

Wouldn't be a shock. He's a retread who can't HC, seems easily controlled. Right up Jethro's alley. But I doubt it.

I don't like any of the suggestions, but I can't think of any other options. This season could still be saved, maybe Jerry hires Reeves afterall. Reeves was going to be the intermediary between Garrett and Wade. Kinda sorta sounds like a head coach.

Or brings back Jimmy for the same role. :D
