Norm Hitzges is just a talking head but I really do believe there is alot of truth in this statement.

I always felt that Jerry Jones was so emphatic about keeping Wade Phillips, even after the disaster yesterday because it was all about Jason Garrett.

If Jerry Jones gets rid of Wade Phillips and keeps Jason Garrett, quality Coaches will not come here knowing that Jason Garrett is probably the Head Coach in Waiting.

Jerry Jones is too afraid that Jason Garrett will go to another organization, have great success and then be a pretty good Head Coach at some point.

Jerry Jones keeping Wade Phillis around is all about Jason Garrett.

Could be. At this point I'd certainly hope not because I don't believe Garrett is capable of running a team. The guy runs a high school offense that every good team has easily figured out so I can't see how he would possibly do good running the whole show.

I don't think Jerry knows what the hell to do, and has defaulted to stubborness.

Oh, please no. They should both be fired, but I'd rather have Wade as HC than Garrett by a mile right now. Garrett isn't ready to even be an offensive coordinator, much less assistant head coach, much less HEAD COACH.

That would be one way, but promote him to what?

If you make him HC, you lose Wade from the defense. He's the best coach we've got.

No question in my mind that's what is driving his thinking.

The fact is he is too close personally to the Garretts to be their boss and it is hurting this organization.

It certainly appears as if Garrett has lost all respect of the offensive players.

This situation is dire!

I think you are right, good insight. Jerry is more into marketing the team than winning. Not that he doesn't care about winning but marketing is his first concern. Right now, we are losing market share because we aren't winning so he doesn't know what to do about it.

I can't wait for the day when Jerry turns the team over to Stephen and they hire a real GM.

Who in their right mind after this diaster of a season thinks Jason Garrett is ready to be a head coach anywhere and will have great success? Where?

What's the obsession Jerry has with Garrett? I don't see what he sees and I'm just a fan watching on TV.

And even now the players are saying HEY JERRY WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE OC.

Even if Garrett did take over it seems as though the team would be as dysfunctional as ever because Garrett has lost the confidence of the team.

Jerry is a doofus.

Yep.

How stupid would it be to make any major organizational decision based on the fear of losing a horribly underperforming and underachieving coordinator?

I agree with this.

I don't care how you spin it, Terrell Owens and finally, Tony Romo threw Jason Garrett under the bus.

I kind of thought the mantra that Jason Garrett's offense is stale and banal was just an excuse, but I am hearing more and more players make the case.

There is probably truth to this. He wants to give Garrett another year to see if he can turn it around. I doubt that he can. Garrett will end up sinking his and Wade's careers. Wade will at least get another coordinator job. And Garrett will be out of the NFL altogether.

I think there's a lot of truth in both of these opinions.

He has a head coach who knows defense and finally got off his fat *** and started coaching it in October, but has no ability (backbone) to lead an entire team and be the No. 1 guy.

He has his red-headed stepchild who he endorsed as the future last off-season, but who stunk this year and apparently cheated to get into Princeton and needs help tying his shoes.

He feels like he can't promote Garrett over Wade, so he feels stuck. So, he decides to stick it out another year.

What a mess.

RoadRunner mentioned "stubbornness." I would add pride, which is amazingly destructive.

I can sum up this team in one word -- Sloppy.

Whether its tackling, blocking, catching, running routes, holding on to the ball, knowing assignments, this team, in a word is sloppy.

There apparently is no attention to detail, and it falls on the coaches, IMO.

Jerry should have cleaned house last night after the game.

Instead, he'll put on his used car salesman hat and try to sell this stinker to the fans, hoping they'll be distracted by his shiny new stadium.

I believe he's right... Dallas isn't better than their 9-7 record, just look back over the last five years.

Jerry should fire them both and bring in Marty Schottenheimer as HC.:bang2:

Is this a carry-over from losing Sean P and hearing all about how great he is- or how great he was that one year?

If Jerry just enamored with Jason over that?

It could have something to do with how much success guys like Peyton and Sparano have had.

I think it is alot deeper than that. I believe Jerry Jones has always liked Jason Garrett, dating back to his playing days.

I also believe that Jason Garrett was all but guranteed to be the next Head Coach.

Jerry Jones is fiercely loyal and if he did promise Jason Garrett the job, there is no way in heck he is going to go back on his word.

Again, Jerry Jones has his new stadium, therefore, there isn't any real pressure for him to change.

I believe the new Stadium was the main reason Bill Parcells was hired.

Seventy-foot tall images of sloppy route-running, Gurode snapping it over Romo's head, Flo's false starts, and Wade's reactions of puzzlement will get old pretty quick.
