Norm Hitzges says Jerry can't fire Wade because he would have to fire Garrett

Norm Hitzges is just a talking head but I really do believe there is alot of truth in this statement.

I always felt that Jerry Jones was so emphatic about keeping Wade Phillips, even after the disaster yesterday because it was all about Jason Garrett.

If Jerry Jones gets rid of Wade Phillips and keeps Jason Garrett, quality Coaches will not come here knowing that Jason Garrett is probably the Head Coach in Waiting.

Jerry Jones is too afraid that Jason Garrett will go to another organization, have great success and then be a pretty good Head Coach at some point.

Jerry Jones keeping Wade Phillis around is all about Jason Garrett.

No doubt about it. Jason was hired from the beginning to be the next HC. He was hired before Wade was even brought in. All Wade was here for was to keep try to keep things going until Jason could take over.

Problem is, why put all your eggs on the hopes on an unproven assistant like Garrett? And why just bide your time with a proven flop like Wade?

In Jerry World, this is considered to be a good idea and proper planning. Most others in the league who care about winning would try to hire the best HC they could find.

My question is, if Jerry is so sold on Garrett being the next HC and he's afraid to lose him, then why not just make him the HC now? Personally, I don't think he should even remain the OC. But regardless, if Jerry's plan is to have Garrett be the next HC, then what's the point in bringing Wade back? We know what Wade is about, he's a proven loser when it counts. He's been HC with five different teams now, is 0-5 in the postseason and just had a team totally fade and collapse the final month of the season again and miss the playoffs.

What it seems to amount to is Jerry had this masterplan two years ago to groom Garrett while having Wade keep the seat warm and try to make a run while improving the defense. Garrett hasn't progressed and Wade has been his usual flop, but Jerry apparently is too stubborn to abandon his original plan and admit he was wrong.

If Jerry is so sold on Garrett, then just name him HC now. What use is it to waste another year with Wade?

I'd prefer to scrap them both and go after someone like Cowher. Of course my ego isn't on the line and Cowher would likely want to *gasp* have control over his coaching staff.

Only in JerryWorld do we get to keep a known loser as HC in order to keep the seat warm for an unproven over-rated OC.

Who cares? Garrett can't even be a good offensive coordinator at this point he has no idea of how to adjust to what a defense is giving him or to be unpredictable.

Romo said that the Eagles exposed them because they knew what the offense was doing... OF COUSE STUPID ITS BECAUSE Garrett hasn't changed the playcalling philosophy enough how could they not figure it out?

Perfect example: We have T.O., Roy Williams, Jason Witten, Martellus Bennet, Patrick Crayton, Marion Barber, Tashard Choice, and Felix Jones, and we have a hard time putting a drive together or finding an open man?

If Jerry things that Garrett is the real deal and will develop into a good NFL head coach then GIVE HIM THE KEYS NOW. Stop trying to be so damn cute. Install the guy, get some solid veteran coordinators around him and let him be.

Othewise, fire the entire staff and bring in someone new.

The keys to what? If the coordinators are doing all the work, and Jerry is the de facto HC, that leaves Garrett with nothing to do but stand on the sidelines.

There is probably truth to this. He wants to give Garrett another year to see if he can turn it around. I doubt that he can. Garrett will end up sinking his and Wade's careers. Wade will at least get another coordinator job. And Garrett will be out of the NFL altogether.

If you make him HC, you lose Wade from the defense. He's the best coach we've got.

Crennel couldnt make this def look as good as Wade?
Mabey Garretts calling is HC,as long as we get a quality OC that is currently not on staff.

Well I aint buying what he's selling. Jerry wants to play GM for one more year and bringing in a real HC won't allow him that. Too bad, this team had a lot of potential. It went into self destruction mode starting with Hard Knocks, continuing with the Pacman drama/saga, ane ending with the TO implosion at Pittsburgh. These players don't want to pay the price it takes to win it all. And the owner is happy to be in the news, albeit for all the wrong reasons. I for one, will not be going next year to the new stadium, will not be buying shirts or hats or any team related stuff. I'll watch but I wont be spending any of my money on them. Screw Jerry.
