Much thanks and this is way out there , but if you had the right kind of smoke , just maybe you might find the right place to compose. You guys could not stand me if I didn't indulge sometimes. promise. ADD hypertension is real. focus is a real place.I am retired but I always worked to live, never the reverse. Work was the necessary evil and everybody's got to be somewhere and everybody I knew was at work so I figured I couldn't beat them, especially being penniless, so I joined them. I did what I thought I was supposed to do.
I look back with regret that I didn't stick with the guitar and become a musician or a writer. I've had encouragement the last 20 years to write and wish I had the confidence in myself that others had in me to pursue that and I still kick the idea around in my head. My problem is adult ADD and a stream of consciousness that at times can be a river that I am just getting carried away on.
Wow, so how long has it been since you quit?Much thanks and this is way out there , but if you had the right kind of smoke , just maybe you might find the right place to compose. You guys could not stand me if I didn't indulge sometimes. promise. ADD hypertension is real. focus is a real place.
Quitin is for quitters..I'm just very glad its only a small part of my highly functional existence.Wow, so how long has it been since you quit?![]()

Yeah, no more authority with that manor. Must lose sleep over that one.Roger Goddell says Hi!
My dream job is airbrushing the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models. It's only once a year, but then there are the Playboy Mansion parties for some side work....and front work...and back work. One day I'm going to come up with one of those (dream jobs).I couldn't even start the fantasy yet alone pursue it... "You'll figure out something you love..well probably not, but you do have to get a job to pay your bills" Which is 100% fine and more accurate for most.
My HS guidance counselor resumes keep being returned to me![]()
That's a lot of "detail" work... you may go blind. My dream job is airbrushing the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models. It's only once a year, but then there are the Playboy Mansion parties for some side work....and front work...and back work.
If so, I'll learn to do it in braille. That's a lot of "detail" work... you may go blind.

Used to love it, then liked it and now tolerate it...I’ve been in a funk for a couple of years and don’t know if I’ll ever come out of it doing the same job. There’s so many other things I’d like to do but unfortunately I’m not smart enough and/or qualified to do them or I’m too old (astronaut, fighter pilot, archaeologist, astronomer, musician, author would be awesome!)
Realistically I’ll probably retire in about 15 years doing what I’m doing now or retire in 8, move off to the mountains and find some odd job where I’ll make 1/8th the money I do now and probably work more but maybe be more happy? Thinking whitewater rafting guide, lifty, bartend, seasonal type stuff where I can be in nature more often either at work or on my days off and be around people that are on vacation or generally more happy than living in a sprawling metroplex where it seems everyone is caught up in a rat race.
Very nice reminders, I struggle greatly with #2.I always remind myself by saying to self :
1-Job is a tool not a goal
2-never understatement yourself
3-don't bite off more than you can chew
5-don't be afraid of change
6- you never too old to reinvent yourself
7-impossible=im possible
