Do you love your job, like your job, tolerate your job or hate your job?

If the latter is your choice, what would you like to do?

I am retired but I always worked to live, never the reverse. Work was the necessary evil and everybody's got to be somewhere and everybody I knew was at work so I figured I couldn't beat them, especially being penniless, so I joined them. I did what I thought I was supposed to do.

I look back with regret that I didn't stick with the guitar and become a musician or a writer. I've had encouragement the last 20 years to write and wish I had the confidence in myself that others had in me to pursue that and I still kick the idea around in my head. My problem is adult ADD and a stream of consciousness that at times can be a river that I am just getting carried away on.

Quitin is for quitters..I'm just very glad its only a small part of my highly functional existence.

I have no doubt that would be your dream job...you should have it. You would never work a day in your life again.

Like Coach, I am retired. That being said, I loved my job and, unlike Coach, I definitely fell into the category of "living to work".

That construct changed when I remarried and discovered that 'working to live' was far better.

As far as dream jobs, I work part-time as a scuba diving instructor, teaching everything from entry level to other instructors. I can work as much or as little as I want and, at any point, walk away when I need to. Great place to be.

My dream job is airbrushing the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models. It's only once a year, but then there are the Playboy Mansion parties for some side work....and front work...and back work.

There’s so many other things I’d like to do but unfortunately I’m not smart enough and/or qualified to do them or I’m too old (astronaut, fighter pilot, archaeologist, astronomer, musician, author would be awesome!)

Realistically I’ll probably retire in about 15 years doing what I’m doing now or retire in 8, move off to the mountains and find some odd job where I’ll make 1/8th the money I do now and probably work more but maybe be more happy? Thinking whitewater rafting guide, lifty, bartend, seasonal type stuff where I can be in nature more often either at work or on my days off and be around people that are on vacation or generally more happy than living in a sprawling metroplex where it seems everyone is caught up in a rat race.

1-Job is a tool not a goal
2-never understatement yourself
3-don't bite off more than you can chew
5-don't be afraid of change
6- you never too old to reinvent yourself
7-impossible=im possible

Very nice reminders, I struggle greatly with #2.
