* OG Steve Hutchinson (Seattle) Sign him to an offer that Seattle can't match. Younger Pro Bowl guard makes Allen a Cap cut.
* Tight end Jeb Putzier (Broncos) –- Solid pass catcher who can Vertically spread a field. Tandem with Witten would be outstanding.
* NT - Ma ake Kemoeatu (Ravens) Massive NT will add solid rotation inside with Jason Ferguson as the 3-4 conversion is now almost complete.
* Offensive tackle Jon Runyan (Eagles) -- A nasty veteran right tackle, he’d bring an attitude and immediately improve the Cowboy's line
* Linebacker Bart Scott (Ravens) -- A backup and special teams dynamo for three years, he filled in for Ray Lewis at linebacker in 2005 and held his own. He has the physical qualities to play inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense .
* Free Safety Ty Law (Jets) One of the leagues premier ballhawks makes the move to FS for Coach Parcells and solidifies secondary

I'd like to take bets that we pick none of these guys up.

Nors, sometimes I'm not sure where you're coming from. Sometimes I agree, and sometimes I don't.

*Hutchison isn't going anywhere
*JJ and BP need a blocking TE, not another Witten
*Kemoeatu won't sign as a backup
*I like the Runyan pick up
*Can live with Scott
*Prefer Coleman over Law (I'm an Aggie Homer, sorry)

I think the biggest splash will be with TO. I know most don't like it, but I think it's more likely that fallen Eagle will land with spurs on rather than an Indian head dress.

Hutchinson - I'd LOVE for us to do that. We'd pay him a lot, but by cutting Allen we'd save a pretty good chunk of that back. He's probably the best G in football.

Putzier - I'd go for that too. We definately need somone at TE. Is he a good enough blocker?

Kemoeatu - If he wasn't too much, I'd put him in the rotation as well. We'd definately be solid at a position that you MUST be solid at to run a 3-4 right. It'd be a lot of $ tied up at NT, but if Bill and Jerry pulled the trigger, I'd assume they know what they're doing.

Runyan - A little old for my taste. Unless we got him at a pretty good price I'd say pass. At a reasonable price? Yes. Adams, Hutchinson, Johnson, Rivera, Runyan would be an enourmous upgrade over last year.

Scott - Do it. He'd be a terrific inside backer to go next to James. Pull the trigger on Lawson or Carpenter in round 1 and we'd have an instantly good LB corps... maybe great.

Law - Not me. I think there's a lot of cheaper options for FS and I don't want that much $$ tied up in the secondary.

Not bad Nors... although I don't agree with everything.

As much as I would like to see Law at FS for a bargain price, I just don't envision it happening. Too many clubs still need a good cornerback. He definately proved that he can still effectively play that position.

Scott is apparently interested in Cleveland, Green Bay, Minnesota, Baltimore and St. Louis.

Baltimore Sun reports that Cleveland won't pursue Maake Kemoteau.

Hutchinson got slapped with the transition tag.

Arrington met with the Dolphins.

OG: Hutchinson would be great.
Kicker: Longwell
FS: Coleman
OT: Fabini

The rest will be picked up with the draft: LB, WR, OT, ILB, TE

Dolphins are poised to make a run this year. Mark it.

if they get a decent QB and a couple more good players, I agree

Saban has put together a great staff and they won games down the stretch this yr with a team most people thought would be lucky to win 5 or 6 games

TRANSITION TAG - means they get to match offer. We lose nothing trying to steal him.

Coleman at FS I'd take too if someone backs the brinx up to Laws house.

And give up a high draft pick for him??

I'll pass... besides, he'd eat up much too big a chunk of our cap room, limiting our ability to upgrade other areas of the roster...

* Tight end Jeb Putzier (Broncos) –- Solid pass catcher who can Vertically spread a field. Tandem with Witten would be outstanding.

The reason Parcells runs a two TE set is for BLOCKING... with Witten and Putzier, there wouldn't be much blocking...

* NT - Ma ake Kemoeatu (Ravens) Massive NT will add solid rotation inside with Jason Ferguson as the 3-4 conversion is now almost complete.

A fine talent, but he says he wants 4 million a year, and that's WAY too much for a run-stuffing nose tackle...

* Offensive tackle Jon Runyan (Eagles) -- A nasty veteran right tackle, he’d bring an attitude and immediately improve the Cowboy's line

There are others I like a little better, but he'd do...

* Linebacker Bart Scott (Ravens) -- A backup and special teams dynamo for three years, he filled in for Ray Lewis at linebacker in 2005 and held his own. He has the physical qualities to play inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense .

Not a "sexy" choice, but not a bad one either...

I'm sorry, but you've been crammin' Law down our throats for so long now that I'd rather see TO sign with the Cowboys... I could probably name five or six free safeties that I'd honestly prefer to him anyway...

Candidly, I'll be glad when Law finally decides to call it a career, so that you can FINALLY get off his jock... :D

we can offer Hutchinson a similar deal with a "poison pill" that the bears used successfully with the chiefs to get John Tait a few years ago. We could tie a very large bonus to something say if they have a running back lead the NFL in TDs you get a 7 million dollar bonus. The Seahawks won't match that since they have Alexander.
