Seems like they lost control a long time ago from the looks of this mess. i dont think you can make it past 2 posts in any thread where someone is not slinging crap at another person.

Does expressing your opinions involve acting like a child and spitting names at people who don't agree with you? It's not the expressing of opinions that's the problem. I don't find the need to call you a moron cause you THINK Norv is a poor excuse of a head coach

The reason why Head Coach Norv Turner would not work in any of the other 31 NFL cities? His .402 winning percentage as a head coach in nine-plus seasons.

How about a thread for those that are excited to have Norv back and are willing to at least give him a chance if it happens. It would be nice to discuss this possible move among supporters with out the debate.

Of course I don't expect this thread to make it past post 2 or 3 with out the idea being blown up but it's worth a try.

I understand that there are those who like the move and I respect their opinion. Personally, I think they're crazy but hopefully I'll be proven wrong. However, if you don't want to "debate" stuff, may I suggest not coming onto an Internet message board where people debate different topics? Just a thought.

No but if you aren't going to look at past results, why not interview Rich Kotite, Ray Handley or re-hire Dave Campo? We don't know how they would do as Cowboys head coach in 2007 either. Sorry but nine years of head coaching experience is a pretty good track record to go on. That was an awful argument.

I have to be honest, from the people I spoken with, they don't understand the move. Most people believe the Cowboys are a decent coach away from really competing. Every single person says the same thing: Norv is a great guy, terrific offensive mind, but not a head coach. But the big problem goes back to no one really wants the job. Can you imagine 15 years ago Bob Stoops saying he isn't interested? Not interested? This is the Dallas Cowboys for Christ sakes. One GM told me as soon as Jerry started hiring people before he appointed a head coach, the big name coaches had no interest. Every good coach wants to bring in his people, the guys he trusts and understand how the head coach operates. Think of this. The Cowboys make a play for Bill Belichick. Can you imagine Jerry Jones telling him who his coordinators would be? Bill Cowher? Jeff Fisher? Jimmy Johnson? Of course not.

I got a call yesterday from a respected personnel guy in the NFL. I was talking with him about another matter. Before we hung up, I asked what he thought about the Dallas situation. He responded with, "You know how many people in the world are talented enough to be an owner, president, CEO and GM all at once? None." So, there is an opinion from someone who has more than one Super Bowl ring and knows a hell of a lot more about football than I do.

Well lets see

Jets He took from 1-15 to a 29-19 record over the next 3 years including and AFC Championship game

The job before that (Pats)

Took them from 2-14 to a 32-32 record including twice to the playoffs and once to the superbowl has a .570 win %


Norv on the otherhand has a 52-82 record with one playoff appearance in his career. Has a .402 win %


Where were the similarities again?

Stop throwing in Norvs numbers to compare.

Bottom line is Parcells resume is not much better in his last 2 jobs then most average canidates avaliable. You sure in the hell would not be screaming for him over some of the others you want now.
