Not as bad as we think?

I've always thought that if you cannot get the war daddy who is unstoppable the next best thing is the stack guys that can consistently beat single blocking.

Now keep in mind that pass rush consistency is a lot like batting average. If you are successful a third of the time you are elite.

I would venture to say pass rushing is an even lower percentage given that an OT that gives up pressure 1 out of every 10 plays is god awful.

Anywho, if you stack those guys then you have a really good chance to get a "consistent" pass rush. Teams cannot double team more than 1 without limiting the number of routes. Even then one or two guys get single blocked every down.

The problem is when you have guys like Hayden, Selvie, and what DLaw gave us last year getting significant snaps.

Think of the GB playoff game. Still think that? That plus Charlton. Whoa. I bet a lot of teams are terrified.

In their defense GB has the best pass blocking Oline in the NFL IMO. I've never seen guys pass block for that long.

You have an 8 man rotation when your starting 4 isn't good enough.

It's like how they talked about RB by committee the year in between Murray and Zeke.

I agree with you 100% Risen. Although, having seen your posts for years, I'm sure you would much rather they spend big bucks and premium picks on CBs while sticking to the 8 man rotation. Lol

I don't see any pro bowlers in that group. A bunch of JAGs and question marks outside of maybe Collins and hopefully Taco.

So yeah it's about as bad as we think when you put it next to any decent lines in the league.

I don't. But that doesn't mean the team expects to cut him before he ends up taking a roster spot again. I wouldn't have a problem if they did, but I don't expect they will. Do you?

I don't think Jerry wants to admit at this point it was a mistake in selecting him so I believe the Cowboys will wait the year out of his suspension to see if he fails another drug test during that suspension because you know the league will be testing him weekly and if he fails a test this year, I can see Dallas cutting him and moving on.....

That's where I think we're at, too. They seem to think they're helping the guy overcome a medical problem. They don't express frustration with him the way they have with other players. And if the league ever adopts a sensible stance on pot and suspensions, he could be a contributor. That's not going to happen in time, though.

They have nothing to lose by keeping Gregory for now. See what he looks like/if he can stay clean when he comes back. Not put any eggs in the basket, just in the interest of keep all options open.

Here is what I think. Against GB the Cowboys came out in the first half with the wrong defensive scheme and AR damn near blew us out because of it. Once they stopped dropping 7 or 8 into coverage every other play, things stabilized and we were able to catch back up and almost win the game.

That fist half was not on the DL generally speaking. It was on the coaches and their boneheaded starting game plan.
