Not excited about tonight

Am I the only one that is not really into the game tonight? For me, this is going to be like a preseason game. Is there anything to play for besides trying to keep momentum going into the playoffs?

I understand that the team has to continue the winning ways that they are on, but, really...what is left to be done? For me, it would be exciting to see the backups play, otherwise, for me this is just another meaningless game. Help me understand why the game would help the Cowboys on their way to the playoffs.

I'm not stressed because all is locked as far as HFA throughout the playoffs, but I badly want a win, Lions are my 2nd least favourite team behind Philly...I live in Lions country, their fans are annoying, and talk about a pessimistic bunch...listening to local media and them interviewing their fans, the common theme from their fans "we want the lions to win, but the cowboys will win"...:lmao2:

Well, win the Cowboys signed up to play professional football, the NFL said you must play 16 regular season games.

I kind of agree with the OP. I feel like I prepare for games similar to the players. My pregame preparation and mental focus is critical. I'm always excited to see our guys go after it but feeling a little weird. A good problem I guess. There's some upside in establishing momentum, playing for excellence and records.

Right...I wonder how the coaches are going to play them tonight. It's this that or the other...save the best for the last.

For sure. Don't get me wrong, I'll be invested in the game and hoping for a win, but if we happen to lose, I'm not going to stress out over the result of it. I just hope everyone gets out injury-free.

You won't but check out CZ should we lose.... you'd think the league stripped away our #1 seed. All hell will break loose won't matter ... could be a 20-21 nailbiter. TRUST ME...

 Trust me, I've been here long enough that I'm well aware of what this place will be like, should we lose tonight. This isn't my first end of the season rodeo. lol

The Cowboys have to stay sharp. But ask the Oakland Raiders if it was worth having Derek Carr playing in the 4th quarter with a 33-14 lead on Saturday.

I think the starters finish tonight's game, and maybe get the 4th quarter off next week in Philly.

The Lions could come in and eat some Cowboys up for dinner...and the Cowboys just smile and get over the game.

I love it! The next two games don't matter, so I can just sit back, relax, and not stress out about it.

This....and Im lookin forward to seein if Gregory can shows somethin, hopefully his first sack at least......also someone on Cowboys Break last week said they had a feeling this could be like the Colts game in 2014, that would be sweet!

I certainly don't feel that way. You only get 16 guaranteed games a year. In a year like this one, you have to savor every one of them. Especially after last year.

What do you mean? Are you saying that the Cowboy should go out an put the peddle to the metal?

Yes, business as usual. When you don't bring the heat because you have "nothing to play for" that's when injuries occur. We haven't earned the right to rest players (i.e. like say, New England or Pittsburgh). Red should keep them on their normal routines. The only players that should rest somewhat are those who are already playing hurt (i.e. T Smith).

Even more, we might see Detroit again during these playoffs. Why not punch them in the mouth early and often? This will send them and the entire NFL a message that they can't win in Dallas. We gotta finish the fight.

If that happens than we know the players came in with a "who cares" attitude. But in that case, we can genuinely worry whether or not they can turn it back on January 14 or 15.

I hate the Skins and don't want them in the playoffs.

But I also want us to destroy the Lions.

I hate this!

I'm probably more excited than you because I'm a bigger fan.

We won't repeat 2007 unless we lose in the playoffs.

Tonight means nothing.

Disagree. Red is trying to establish a new culture with Dak and Zeke leading the way. We do not want them thinking games don't matter.

:muttley: CZ never fails to entertain. Kinda the reason I don't feel we need to see Romo.

I don't care about the result really.

I just want 3 things.

1. No injuries.

2. Zeke to have a shot at Dickerson record next week.

3. Gregory and Irving to look like beasts off the edge.

I care about the results because I want the Cowboys to win. But if they lose, I'm with you. It's not going to be anything to get majorly upset about.
What I'm looking for in this game:

1. No injuries.
2. Gregory to perform like we thought he could when we drafted him.
3. Dak continuing to be accurate and making good decisions from the pocket.
4. Zeke to have a shot at Dickerson's record next week.

I agree, hound dog...like coach said, "give those hats and *****" to someone you love. I'm enjoying this season.

It does have a different feel to it, but it's nice to not be worrying about who needs to lose for us to sneak into a wild card.
