Today definetly was not flashy, but it was solid.

I am not going to speak on Hatcher because like everyone else around here I know nothing but what I read. It sounds like this guy has a lot of potential, but we will have to wait on this one. I can say though if he pans out I have no problem with the pick. Can never have to many good D-Lineman, and honestly 3-4 DE are hard to come about.

In regards to Carpenter and Fasano these guys kind seem like clones.

Both have a strong passion for the game. Both come from succesful programs. Both show good leadership skills, both seem to have high character, both are hard workers and tough, and both bring a physical tone, and BLUE COLLAR approach. Both are also considered to be in the handfull of the best at their position in the draft and are talented and skilled.

This is the exact formula that brought trophies to New England.

We have players with speed, quickness, and flash. You know everything that gets you excited! We have some dynamic players on this team.

Nothing wrong filling things out with lunch pail guys like Carpenter and Fasano. Actually I kinda like it. :starspin

Good post. Building the foundation for a football team is not flash and dash. It's bringing in guys that are top-quality players with a strong work ethic and fit the system. That is exactly what was done today.

You build the foundation and then when you finally get the right QB in place you have a championship contender. See the Pats and the Steelers for the best example of this approach. We have to hope Henson is our guy.
